I used this to repair my bicycle where the LBS stripped the hole where the rear rack and the rear fender attach to the right dropout. They put a bolt with a nut on the inside of the dropout but the nut blocked the chain from the smallest sprocket on the rear cassette. Occasionally the chain would get jammed under the nut so I'd have to remove the wheel which took more force and was riskier to fingers and messier than the usual chain problem. I had 2 problems using this but got it done. First, the tap needs a tap wrench. I got away with using a small crescent wrench but I think I was lucky. The aluminum bike frame seemed very brittle and prone to chipping. I used 30 wt. oil from the can by my drill press. The tap was hard to get started. I don't know much about taps but it seemed that it should have been a little longer and more tapered so it would grip and start more readily. I had to press hard on the tap which was difficult because the top end of it is pointed and it hurt. Second, the bolt was hard to get started in the new coil/threads. I could have benefited from another tap. I was about to file down the end of a bolt to get the threads working but I saw a used bold that had a slightly tapered end and used that to get the threads established.. I then switched to a bolt of the right length and it started easily after the first, tapered, bolt cleared the path.

This worked well. I was only cutting into aluminum and brass. I only had two holes to clean out the old brass screw and cut the new helicoil into. The drill bit was dull by the time I was done but the tap cut great in the aluminum and is still sharp. Steel I don't know.

Great value and worked as I expected. Super sweet it comes with a drill bit! My only complaint is that the manufacturer tightened the set screw so tight in the depth collar that the cheap screw and allen key stripped out. I managed to eventually get it out and had to run to the store and by a stupid bag of set screws for almost the cost of this kit.However I've bought a couple of these kits and they are WAY cheaper over the competition and seem to work as good.

Calidad bajísima trae una llave Allen que junto con su tornillo se deforman a la primera de cambio. Los muelles ok y la broca y el que hace la rosca ok

Muy fácil de utilizar, y muy recomendable usar para la broca un atornillador a batería en donde puedes regular muy facilmente las rpm con el eléctrico hay que perforar muy poco a poco si no se traba.
