Exactly what I was looking for! Perfect for organizing personal documents like birth certificates, passports, wills etc. finally a binder that fits everything in one place! I love how it’s bound to expand when full.

It's a bit flimsy... The attachment of the folders to the main binding should be more robust. I like the idea of the entire folder but should be stronger attachment to the main binding.

This is a very nicely made album/keepsake book. This is perfect for a student or young adult moving away, as a gift for a new parent to organize baby keepsakes, for a bride and groom planning their wedding...it would be great as a housewarming gift, or for making a scrapbook of any sort. You could use this for a thousand different things and it is attractive enough to give as a gift or use for organizing mementos that you treasure. It comes packaged in a giftable box as well. You get two sheets of label stickers, one with text already applied and one blank to add your own text. The book is filled with expanding pockets. The pockets are numbered 1-12: the first four pages are vertical full page pockets, the next four are horizontal full page pockets, the last two pages are made of half-page horizontal pockets. Each pocket has accordion style folds so that they can expand to hold a plethora of items and allow you to easily see and reach inside. All pockets have string closures. The corners of the cover have attractive metal protectors applied to prevent damaged corners as you use the book over time, and the gromets throughout the book are made of a matching antiqued brass color metal. One pocket in my book was not sealed along the spine. It was easy to fix with some super strong double sided tape I have in my craft supplies. Glue would also work well to fix this. I am not really deducting any stars for this fact because I assume most people who order something like this are at least minimally crafty. The only real negative I can see with this book is that there is an elastic strap to hold it closed as well as an elastic lace through the spine to hold the pages securely. In essence this is a good idea because it allows you to add lots of stuff to the book and still have it close nicely; however, the purpose of such a book is to create a collection that will last over time. Elastic inevitably fails as time goes by. The alternative would be to have laces that can be tied around the book. I think a lot of people would find this fussy and unattractive, so I can see why they chose to use elastic. I expect to need to replace the laces/ties at some point in the future. If I don't, whomever inherits the collection I build will most likely need to do so. This is typical of such items, so it really is no real loss or downside.I am giving the book 4 stars because while it is a nice quality book and it is fairly attractive, there is something a bit more rustic about this than I really like. I LOVE all things stationery, pockets, envelopes and boxes thrill me, always have... When I pay $50 for an item I expect some sort of brand-new crispness that is lacking with this book. The price is not way off the mark, and you would go through a lot of trouble to make this yourself, so it is worth the money spent to purchase it. It is slightly under-sophisticated for my personal taste, so 4 stars it is. It is still a lovely item.

This book is a brilliant way to get your documents organized, especially if you tend to lose things, or tend toward being disorganized -- this book makes it easy and leaves you with less excuse to misplace things. There are four large envelopes that open at the top, four that open on the side, and six smaller envelopes that open at the top. The envelopes can be closed with a string twist closure. The material used in this book seems to be quite durable. The cover is solid, though it doesn't have a particularly high-end look. The envelopes are made of heavy cardstock and seem like they could withstand quite a lot of wear.It comes with a sheet of preprinted stickers to label your envelopes. There are also blank stickers, if you want to use other categories that are not already listed. At the front of the book, there is a table of contents, which makes it simple to find what you are looking for.The ad shows waterproof PVC coating. I'm not sure what that is referring to, as I don't see anything that looks like it's coated in plastic. The paper strikes me as just being paper.I love that the binding is held together with an expandable elastic, so the book will grow as you add more things into it. There is an additional elastic that holds the book closed. Being quite familiar with fabric elastic, I do wonder how the closure and binding will stand up over time. I know that sometimes elastic gives out and snaps over the years, even it isn't being washed. There is no way to tell how this elastic will do until the years pass. The corners have metal on them to protect them from damage which is great, given that this book will probably be used for many years. While being a great, practical organization tool, I do think that it is currently overpriced.

I hate to admit it as I am an adult but I was keeping all my important documents loose in my filing cabinet drawer. Now with this binder everything has a place and is well labled and organized. Once filled and closed it really do not take up much more room take a large book, so saves me so much room in my filing cabinet.

This folio is well designed and reasonably durable. Included with the folio is a sheet of pre-printed labels and a sheet of blank labels for your personal list. The folio has metal attractive corners to protect against wear. An elastic flexible strap holds all the envelopes together and is expandable so the more you fill the folio, the thicker it is. This is a nice design. There is also a smaller elastic band that holds the folio closed. There are 14 envelopes in total. You get 4 full size portrait envelopes, 4 full size landscape envelopes, and 6 half size envelopes. Each envelope has a closing flap with an elastic band to keep the flap closed. The first page in the folio is a Table of Contents sheet for organizing. This is a nice feature so you can quickly find important documents. I’m using this for our Marriage Certificate, Passports, Birth Certificates, our Wills, my work Licences, and I have a lot of room to spare. Overall, a great folio!

Ok. I feel like this company read my mind. If I could only articulately express to you how much this book nailed it with the possibilities of what kind of items may need to be stored together, in one place, for easy access, to keep safe….everyone of you reading this would invest and purchase this document organizer ….recently I went through a cleaning/organizational wave. The amount of gift cards I found…in different locations (safe ones, but random) was unbelievable - either I was worried to throw it out as it may hold a balance but didn’t have time to check, or it held a balance but i didn’t need it in my wallet as I didn’t want to lose it/have it consume space when not redeeming anytime soon- They stack up over time! I thought…I need to keep these all together in one place so i always know where to look for them when I need them. Certificates. Passports. Receipts of items that I am scared to lose so I store them in random “safe” places ( tucked in a vase, in a drawer) - problem is too many places to store important things. How clever is this book that comes equipped with retro string envelopes and cute and thoughtful labels for all of the stuff above but not including a plethora of other stuff like cards, contracts, recipes, Etc. A place to store your stuff all in one place- no need to scramble anymore wondering which safe spot you put it in. It’s gorgeous exterior easily allows for the book to be tucked away on a bookshelf. A fantastic and beautiful piece to store your important items. Great gift to yourself or someone you know who can really make use of some piece of mind.

I was looking forward to receiving this because I have always wanted a way to centralize the storage of important documents that we have in one place instead of in individual manila envelopes. This binder has a rigid cover that is 12 3/4 x 11 inches large reinforced on all corners with a metal corner and consists of a bound collection of large pocket envelopes and then several "pages" of pocket envelopes that are 2 per page and are half the size of the large pocket envelopes. Specifically there are four pocket envelopes that open vertically and four that open horizontally. What that means is that four of these allow you to insert a document top down and the other four have a side opening to insert docs sideways into the envelope. The remaining half size pocket envelopes are two per page and there are three "pages" of these. All told, we're talking about 14 total envelopes. Each has a number and corresponds to a list of all the numbers inside the front cover where you can list the name for each envelope to identify its contents. A half sized envelope is also attached to the inside from cover to be used for small incidentals I guess that aren't suitable to be in the main pocket envelope collection. The entire binder has a built in elastic band that is used to "bind" the book together when not in use. Included are two sheets of stickers that can be adhered to any of the envelopes to help identify them if you wish. One sheet has suggested subjects pre-printed on the sticker like "passports" or "lease & contracts" - you get the idea. And the second sheet of stickers is available for you to write in what ever topic suits you. Had to ding this item for one star because should you want to ADD an additional pocket envelope to the binder once you've used up all the existing pocket envelopes, you can't.
