As part of your vehicle's heating and cooling system, the blower motor resistor allows the heater or A/C to change the speed of the fan, which is actually controlled by reducing the amount of current flowing to the blower motor. It can be used to set the speed of the blower motor from low to high according to your preferences. Blower Motor Resistor Failure Symptoms
No Air Blowing Through Vehicle's Vents
The blower resistor is responsible for transferring power from the battery to the blower itself, so one of the symptom of the resistance failure is that no air flows out of the car exhaust.
Blower Motor Only Working on High Speed
This occurs due to the failed blower motor resistor not being able to control the flow of electric current.
Blower Motor Does Not Work on Certain Settings
Another symptom of the blower motor resistor failure is that it fails or does not work at all in one or more settings.

Buying these Chinese FSRs is a roll of the dice. Might get one that works for 5 months, might get one that works for 10 days, might get one that's DOA. Hard to shell out $200+ for a BMW branded one though.

Aluminum coolers are smaller than Denso OEM but as titled, it worked right after install with no issues.Would recommend.

My old e46 AC was working fine until one day I accidentally powered the ignition on/off/on while starting it. This was an easy, inexpensive repair and everything is back to normal. Happy customer here. Check YouTube for installation video. You can do this yourself.

Part failed 5 minutes after install, figured it was an issue with my blower I bought a genuine resistor to test out. It's been over a week and the genuine part is working fine. Would not recommended buying this part

This was an emergency purchase as I needed to have my AC back up and working ASAP. Getting an OEM part would have taken a week so I resorted to ordering the best-rated one from Amazon.Quality: initial impressions were it looked and felt like a well-made part. A few of the heatsink pins were bent but I recall seeing some that are bent on purpose.Install: for my 2003 M3, it was annoying but not too difficult. It's in a tight spot so having small hands makes it easier. It's smaller than the OE part so putting the new part back in was easier than trying to manipulate the original one out. There's a few YouTube videos out there about how to DIY the install.Results: The blower fan works again and I can enjoy my AC again. I can't say anything about its durability or longevity but it's been about 2 weeks since I've installed it and the HVAC fan has been running without a hiccup. I'll order a spare OE FSR as a backup but this one seems to be doing its job.

Bought this because my fan stopped working intermittently and it fixed my issue! Will update if it fails but for so cheap if it lasts me a year or two I'll be happy.
