This switch was direct replacement for our 1990 Chev Silverado K2500 8600GVW pickup. This switch is mounted ON the steering column, under dash area. NO install instructions were provided. However, installation is easy by first removing wire connectors then using flat bladed screwdriver and gently pry end up that contacts steering column tube. By viewing new part, how it clips into notch is readily understandable. Also putting transmission in neutral position centers hole where switch tang engages hole inside column.

Didn’t know this thing existed until the backup lights failed in my 30 year old Chevy Suburban. Exact replacement. A bit difficult to reach at the bottom and hidden side of the steering column, otherwise an easy replacement

Reverse lights quit working in wifes 1991 chevy, tried to adjust the old unit but contacts were burnt out.This was actually a direct replacement in her truck with no issues.I believe 1988-93 uses this same part

This OE ACDELCO Neutral Safety Switch for my 87 Suburban works just fine for me in helping restore it to where it is supposed to be.
