This size is for the A/C belt and pulley system, not the main drive belt and pulley system which I needed. This model of "idler pulley" comes up on all of the searches and it is difficult to find the larger 3" x 1" pulley with the larger washers and dust covers that goes on the alternator mount bracket next to the alternator for the 98-02 LS1 v8 engine. That one is harder to find but I did end up finding one and replacing the pulley. The downrated stars is for the product description not being accurate enough to distinguish these 2 entirely different pulley types.

My 2009 Corvette C6 LS3 developed the common pulley squeal so began the search for an OEM part at a reasonable price. After several website searches, all points returned me to Amazon for this replacement part. The part was near identical to my existing pulley and was a direct fitment with out any issues. If your LS3 requires a replacement idler pulley, I recommend this part.

This ACDelco 36220 pulley is listed fitting the A/C belt tensioner on my 2006 Pontiac GTO.It does not due to the additional width of the pulley causing a slight fitment interference.As noted in other reviews, this pulley is wider than the factory piece. Without measuring, I will guess it is about 1/8" wider. This small difference causes it to interfere with the stamped washer/shield for the bolt that fastens the tensioner body itself to the engine.Initially I installed the pulley onto the tensioner while the tensioner was still bolted to the engine. Difficult, but doable. After torquing it down (extremely difficult on a tensioner arm that rotates clockwise), during inspection I noticed that it had a little drag to it. In the end, I removed the tensioner from the engine to inspect the pulley and sure enough, it makes slight contact with the tensioner's bolt washer/shield; the bolt that fastens the tensioner to the engine block.I suggest you do not use this pulley as a replacement for the original A/C belt tensioner pulley...unless the 'self clearancing' nature does not bother you. The interference is slight that it will likely go unmissed on most LS2 engines.I cannot find an ACDelco part number for a replacement pulley that matches the factory original from Australia. For my second swing, I am ordering ACDelco tensioner assembly ACDelco 38196. I will update this review once I confirm that it does/doesn't fit properly.Tensioner pulley to tensioner arm bolt: 15mm.Tensioner arm to engine block bolt: 13mm.

A little wider than stock -I think this is technically the C6 pulley, but otherwise worked perfectly

I got this idler pulley to replace the A/C belt tensioner pulley on a C5 (1997 - 2004) corvette. Both the idler and tensioner pulley are the same for the A/C belt. Super easy 1 bolt install, access is tight but it is possible from the top of the engine bay.The pulley itself is a metal design, slightly different from original. It comes with a washer for the original bolt since the dust cover doesnt fit with this pulley. Also, this pulley will only install one way, with the flat face towards the front of the car. Get some blue thread locker compound for the 15mm bolt when you are reinstalling it!
