I installed this part and when I backed out of my driveway I heard a bad noise! I ended up removing it and returning it! Disappointed!

Remove the mechanical drive, install this permanent magnet pickup to create the exact signal your PCM needs to create a VSS signal high and low. It is filtered from the PCM and use a twisted pair of wires to prevent RFI. Works great! ASE Master

I purchased an aftermarket product and then reordered this one because it was a factory Delco. Although I know that all of these parts are generally made by one manufacturer with different labels, but I also do try to stick with factory style brands. Before you install this product, make sure that you check the two silver tabs that pick up the magnetic draw from the gear on the transmission shaft. If they are not flush with the sensor housing I would recommend that you file them down to where they are even. I had to do this as the tabs came in contact with the gear on the transmission shaft and caused a roaring sound when in motion from drive or reverse. After that was taken care of I had no problems, and the installation was simple. If you are doing this on the ground and if you do not want to lose transmission fluid I recommend that you do this with the front of your vehicle facing downhill, securely wheel chocked, and that you jack up the transmission from the crossmember at least 3 in.

The other one for sale much cheaper did not fit exactly right, and rubbed, so total loss.So, I had to buy this expenssive acdelco one, and it fit right.

I don’t know why Amazon won’t let me tell people that this product does not work and is the wrong size and will mess up your transmission because it won’t fit in the transmission right. I mean? Cmon Amazon Let’s not cover things up. It’s called freedom of consumer.

The mounting bracket doesn't have to correct bend it it to allow for proper depth. It seemed like it went in too far and the teeth of the transmission were rubbing on part of the magnet bars, making a grinding type noise. I had only traveled about 15 feet, but after removing this VSS I saw some bending in the magnet plate, so I switched back to my old VSS; luckily I had already ordered the o-ring before deciding to replace the whole unit. ***Buyer beware: make sure that the bend in your new mounting bracket is the same as your original. DO NOT DAMAGE YOUR ORIGINAL VSS, as you may be reinstalling it...***
