I put .30" of water in a professional rain gauge and then slowly added a little water at a time to the Acurite wireless rain gauge to check for accuracy. It was completely accurate as you can see by the reading on my monitor.

I'm very happy that I did not have to order a whole kit (all over again). I've owned this rain gauge collector system now for well over three years, "in addition to" my indoor digital weather station.Much thanks to Amazon, all I have to do now is replace the outside collector only, "when needed."Yes! I'm a weather fanatic. I like drinking my cup of coffee in the morning and checking the indoor rain gauge panel to see if it rained last night or how much has fallen up to the present moment. No need to go outside walking in mud just to check a glass tube that may have already cracked!My outside collector gets A LOT of use (I'm now on my second unit & have a third as a backup).I've had it outside for temperatures well below the freezing point (32* F) and it still works like a charm.... once it warmed up! I also check it once a week to clean out any cobwebs. I periodically spray insect repellent on the internal tipping buckets and inside the outer cover (where the rain enters) to keep the bugs out. It seems to work very well that way.... and has lasted a long time.
