Welch Allyn tips fit this perfectly - I tested it. It's a sturdy tool that feels like quality and with a convenient battery. The hard case is nice, presentable, and it protects the equipment while in my bag. It comes with a spare lightbulb for each of the scopes which is neat. I don't feel like I'm getting robbed like I do when I buy Welch Allyn products. The only drawback is the small aperture and field of view but this should be expected with a pocket sized scope.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve dropped and banged these and they still work great! I’ve owned several of these same sets over the years and always pick ADC over the more expensive brands because this is all I need for rounding on patients or carrying in my lab coat for office visits. The price is great so if I lose one In the hospital I don’t get too upset over it. This is a great company and they have fixed my otoscope and ophthalmoscope for free more than once. These are lightweight and easy to use, very bright. I highly recommend this for most providers; I wouldn’t recommend for an expert opthalmoscopic eye exam but for a generalist like me they do the job pretty well!

I wanted a relatively low cost Otoscope for hospice home visits and my occasional work with the State Guard. As a practicing Internist for 25 years I'm a bit spoiled by the Welch Allyn versions, which from an office standpoint are the only kind I would have(in the office.) The ONLY reason I did not give this 5 stars is the light is not as bright as the WA version of the same, which I also own. Also, there is no rheostat; it's just on and off although to be truthful I can't think of a time in 25 years I wanted to illuminate an ear or throat with "less light" so that seems a bit silly doesn't it? I'm very impressed with the sold construction of this device. I think it will hold up well. It comes in a very protective plastic box and even includes two extra bulbs. It uses the standard WA Kleenspec 4.25 disposable specula. For the price this product is a steal.

It's not bad for the price. I originally purchased this set because I wanted something that used standard AA batteries; however this is not what is most frequently used in clinics/hospitals nor is it as high quality as other models. That being said, if you plan on going abroad or somewhere with questionable electricity or plan on treating them abusively (throwing them at the wall in a fit of Hulk-like rage or whatever), these are the top of my recommendation list. They come with some disposable ear pieces too so yay!

The light on this ophthalmoscope is blinding, and cannot be adjusted. It is absolutely impossible to see the retina or the disc. The pupils constrict very much and the patients complain a lot. I tried it on family members and let colleagues try it on me. It is unfair to use it on anyone.I am spending more money and buying a better ophthalmoscope. The otoscope is fine.

The ADC pocket combo is a great set for a student not looking to break the bank. I've been able to do everything a person with a $700 Welch-Allyn can do. Now of course there are going to be slight differences between this and a way more expensive product, but if you can get past the petty details this will serve you great for school and examining your family at home when they're sick. As for any other settings you're always going to have a wall mounted Welch set ready to be used.

obviously, if you pay 1/4- 1/5 of the price of a high dollar set, you can't expect the utmost in quality. it's just a trade off. i ordered this set as a first year med student and havent regretted it at all. it serves great for OSCE and phys exam learning.my thinking was that i'll buy this cheap set, since i have zero money, and it will be a great set to have for med mission trips (AA batteries are great when you are in a village w/ no electricity and if it gets snatched- you lost $100 as opposed to 500). plus, i feel like most practices have oto/ophth in exam rooms, so i'm glad i didnt spend money on an expensive set.definitely recommend this set. it is efficient quality (actually better quality than what i was expecting) but obviously not high quality.

I've only used it once or twice...so time will tell.Pro: Compact, nice case, extra disposable specula, affordable, It appears to be well-made (this must be tested with more use). It doesn't look cheap like some of the others in the price range. It's easy to use (switch, etc) and it does not have a funky smell (like some of the Welch Allyn kits my classmates have)Cons: The handle gets hot after a couple minutes of use, but not really an issue. Until I get better at using diagnostic kit...it's hard to tell if the quality is proportional to the price. My other classmates spent $400+ on their kits and I think for what we're using it for it's good enough.Overall: Happy with my purchase. I'm still learning how to use it...Since I will probably be using the kit in the hospital...this is just one to practice with.
