Says “Non-skid base” right on the box. But there is nothing on the base of this product, just slick plastic like the rest of the product. I expected the base to be rubber so it wouldn’t slip on the deck of the boat. Don’t have much confidence in this product. I’ll update after I take the boat out in the next few days.

I bought the black one and upon opening the box, my first thought was " This thing is ROCK SOLID and extremely well made "... It is a well thought out item, and I immediately went onto the sellers website to see what other products they sell which I will have no reservations at all purchasing more items from Mangrove Products especially after speaking with their customer support which I will now explain why. The stabilizer I received seemed to have a possible manufacturing defect in the shock absorber reflex mechanism. I called Mangrove Products the next morning after I received it, and I will be honest and say that my expectations were low as I don't have much confidence in the present atmosphere of todays businesses and decline of good quality service that many have suffered. Well, WHEN I AM WRONG, I CAN ADMIT IT, AND MAN WAS I WRONG !!! My phone call was returned that evening, by the Owner / CEO , Ross , who includes his business card with your purchase ( nice touch from the get go ) ! We spoke for a bit while I had the stabilizer in my hand and he talked me through a couple of checks & balances so we could try and pin point the issue. Throughout my conversation with Ross, the one thing that stuck out to me more than anything is that this guy is truly interested in determining what happened so that he could correct it " IF " there was a problem on his end. It was obvious to me that he had a lot of pride in his product and wanted to make sure that his quality control was above average. By the end of our conversation, I felt smarter because he was even helpful in offering some tips & suggestions to a couple of concerns I had. For instance, my boat has a non-skid deck & gunwale, which not all boats have, especially the gunwale sections, and right where the stabilizer would sit, I was worried about the non skid gunwale having a "sandpaper" like effect on the bottom of the foot of the stabilizer and in turn marring the gunwale and scratching up the bottom of the stabilizer. I mentioned possibly adhering a round 3" piece of the cloth side of velcro as a pad to prevent this and he said that would be fine and would have no negative effects , but then he suggested that using some silicone tape would also be a good solution, and the more I thought about it, the more I liked his idea better than mine. All I did was buy some white "flex tape" to adhere to the bottom & voila !! Problem Solved ! Not all boats will need this extra measure and I'm sure there will be some boat owners who don't even overthink things like this like I do, so before anyone asks why doesn't he just include it, there is no reason to do this and it will only drive the price up. As it stands now, you get an excellent product for an excellent price ! Anyway, by the end of the conversation, Ross advised that he was sending me a replacement and later that evening, I received a tracking number and was able to track the shipment. Ladies & Gentleman, great customer service is not dead after all and Ross & his company not only talk the talk but they walk the walk ! It's companies like this that Will Make America Great Again ! I don't write many reviews , but this company deserves an exception and they also deserve as much time from me as Ross was gracious enough to give me and I'll just end by saying...."GREAT PRODUCT, GREAT PRICE, GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE "

Works good and made of solid materials. Only downside is that it doesn’t have a suction cup on the bottom to help keep it down, but otherwise a very nice addition to my boat.

Does 100% of what it's supposed to do and I've beat the **** out of the thing. It's holding up to Florida sun and even the sticker hasn't faded. If you want to support the end of you motor, this is the way to go.One critique. I have to tighten it to the trolling motor arm before each trip. Not a big deal but some form of locking it in place would be money.

I didn't have a lot of faith in this product working when I opened the package, but to my surprise is has worked fabulously. I recommend it to everyone. People at the boat ramps always seem to notice it on my trolling motor and I tell them it's great.

This is a great addition to my boat!! You know it’s not enough to have a great product. There are a lot of great products. What separates the winners is the product support. This company has amazing support and the customer definitely comes first. You will never go wrong ordering from this company. I would order again without hesitation.
