Cool idea! Works with the bottom light on the Air 3, allowing you activate it simply by turning the light on from the remote control. When the light is on, it continuously rotates a locking pin at the bottom which will release anything locked by the pin. There's a button located below the charging port that you can push to rotate the locking pin as well so you can set the lock before flying. You can recharge the unit with a USB-C cable, and there is a sliding on/off switch on the side opposite the charging port.The only downside to this is when flying the Air 3 at night it automatically turns on the bottom light during take offs and landings to pinpoint the starting location of the drone, so this would not function properly at night and would actually interfere with night flights as it covers the light.

The unit I received was defective and did not hold a charge. But, the design is cool. I will order a replacement .
