This is so much easier to store than a long paddle which passengers can trip over as they move around the boat.Fortunately, I have not had to use the paddle but it's comforting to know that I can get back to the dock iif I run out of gas or my motor gives out.

I bought 2 of these. They are awesome! Even saved me when I got stuck in the middle of the lake when my motor died.

I take a Sun Dolphin pedal boat out onto a small lake that's 40 feet deep. It's just a pedal boat so it really doesn't need any safety items, but I have this paddle on the boat with me along with 2 cushions. This lake usually has no one on it and this is mainly a safety measure. The handle is aluminum, the paddle seems sturdy. It easily telescopes to full position and easy to store in the bag with velcro closure.

Bought as emergency gear for the pwc's we have. Appear to be very well constructed and collapse down small enough to be stowed in the storage areas. Very pleased with this purchase.

Works pretty good, the extension and collapse can be difficult to perform, no real clear notation as to where to pull and twist. I'm not sure why there is a bag for it. The hook end could be longer to help catch the dock.

Bought two of these to use for my 2 person raft and the River Regatta. It fold up compactly, so you don't have a big bulky oar on a small raft until you need to extend it and use it. It also will work with larger rafts. It packs up in the provided orange bag for storage which is a really nice feature. It is a sturdy oar and better than the other oars I have.

Great little telescoping back up paddle for my kayak adventures. Stores easily inside kayak, expands/compacts down easily, seems to be well made. Hope to never have to use it but if I do I have faith it will do its job. Wouldn't use this type of paddle as my primary paddle but more then adequate as a back up.

I let my kids play with it in the water (mistake I know) but I didn't expect a paddle to sink. I tested it before I gave it to them and it was floating fine, but 15 minutes later is was gone.

I only got this because it is required by the state for safety. My boat is a 10 ft. Bass Hunter and I only use it on urban lakes so I wanted one that took up very little space and this one fits the bill. I tried it the first time out and it works as intended. It comes with the nylon bag that has enough room for the paddle plus a flare gun, some extra rope or any other small safety gear you may need. I also plan to replace the full size one that I use on my larger boat with this one.

It gets small... While it's not the ideal paddle for regular use, it's great to move your kayak to retreive a dropped paddle or to get you back to shore in an emergency. The small storage size makes it great for kayak anglers as a backup.
