I mounted this knob on the steering wheel of my Mako with hydraulic steering. It is an easy install and very solid! I had previously purchased and returned one of the knobs on Amazon that was a buck or two cheaper, that had a plastic bearing. Compared to that model this knob is tremendously better. It is solid without the wobble of the plastic bearing design. Also, this knob is advertised as being 316 stainless steel…. An absolute necessity for salt water use.

The knob seems good and fine. The description didn’t say what style of steering wheel it would fit on. A round steering wheel or an oval shaped steering wheel handle. Luckily I have two boats so I just put it on the other boat steering wheel.

It was simple, as is any steering knob, to mount. Main downside is the bearings in it aren’t very smooth. Take a good quality steering knob and it’ll spin for a minute straight if you spin it good. This knob will spin for just a few seconds and stop, not very smooth.Overall it does the job and is better than nothing.
