This stops the fan from running when the kids forget to turn it off. Works great!

If you buy on of their fixtures, buy this controller. Compact with all of the functionality you need for lights and fan, including a sensor.

I set my "timer" setting to 40 minutes, then turned in the vent fan and after about 3 minutes it turned off. Humidity sensor sometimes is over sensitive turning on when no humidity is in the room, other times it doesn't turn on at all when taking a hot shower.

The switch buttons could have a darker marking on them. Once you use it a few times it's easy to remember which does what. Wiring is definitely a tight squeeze and stranded wire unlike regular romex.

i got this to go with my akicon AK18CL1-W and it was the perfect fit. we installed 14-3 wire to run the light, fan and nightlight that the vent fan has. it all paired perfect. the timer setting is good and the humidity setting we just always keep at 50% so that way it'll turn on when we have any hot water running in our bathroom. overall a very good product

PRO: The install was pretty simple and switch is well labeled to wire. I didn't have any issues with fit in the existing box but it was a single box and not a multiple box which could be tight. CON: the instructions on how to use it are simply awful. Calling customer support was frustrating as she wasn't able to answer my questions. I emailed my questions and they were answered within the hour. Wish they included the following items in their description or with instructions so if you purchase this you will have this information:--although it appears that the buttons are backlit they are just painted with neon green paint and symbol for each button was super small and difficult to see. I have a Cricut vinyl cutting machine and made my own easy to see black vinyl labels (see photo) as it is in a guest bath and guests who aren't familiar with the switches need to be able to see the buttons easily.--when setting the % humidity---1= 90%, 2=80%, 3= 70%,4=60% 5=50%.--illuminated light colors above the humidity sensor (and what they mean)--blue=fan is on; red--either light or night light are on; green=both fan and either light are on. (I was concerned when the red lights were on that it was wired incorrectly). again phone rep couldn't answer this question but emailed rep didOverall it has the options I needed for our existing combo fan, light and nightlight and should work well for our guest bathroom. It got a solid 3 due to difficulty in figuring out how to use it and hard to see symbols.

Edit:Editing both safety and functionality scores. Upon discussing with manufacturer, the safety is improved to 2* as you could technically add a ground by wrapping around the screw since there is metal in the boxes mounting bracket. I still do not find this acceptable, but perhaps will make others comfortable. This, and all switches, should have a proper ground, ESPECIALLY in wet environments.I am lowering functionality score to 3*. Based on the description and buttons present, I had expected to be able to use the humidity sensitivity and timer functionality together in a hybrid manner. However, when using the humidity sensitivity, there is no control for timer. I had expected to be able to allow the unit to turn on/off automatically based on humidity, which it can. But I also expected to be able to manually turn on the switch and have it automatically turn off after, say, 15 minutes. It will not do that, but rather shuts off after 4:30 unless humidity is sensed. For this reason, it does not suit my needs and lacks the expected functionality. The only way for the timer functionality to work when manually turned on is to fully disable humidity sensing functionality. Finally, I am also adding a score of 1* for fit and finish. I purchased two of these units, and neither fit properly into a 2 standard 2 gang outlet covers. Both units were too tight in the space, and the bottom two buttons would get caught on the frame of the cover. This would cause the buttons to stick, turn off/on inadvertently, and all sorts of other havoc. I tried 3 different wall plate brands/styles, all with the same problem. Eventually I used a dremmel rotary tool to grind out a larger opening on the bottom and corners of the cover, which ended up looking sloppy as perfection is impossible. As a positive, I will add that the manufacturer was relatively responsive to my email questions.Overall score remains 2 stars. 2* for safety, 3* for functionality, 1* for fit and finish for the unacceptable size incompatibility issue. I will be returning both of these units.Original review:Why does this switch have no groundwire? Is this acceptable in modern USelectrical code? Is there a reason it'sacceptable to not be grounded? This model has features I am interested in, but now that I see no ground, I am concerned with safety. All the other manufacture's similar humidity switches have a ground (Leviton, Top Greener).5 stars for functionality, 1 star for safety. Giving 2 stars. Willing to update if clarification received regarding lack of ground.
