I did not realize this was plastic and not glass (which is probably my own fault) but even so, it came to me completely broken. It felt and looked very cheap and I don't understand how the cheap plastic doesn't melt from the candle inside.... I obviously had to return it but I would not recommend.

Spend your money if you want. But this was a replacement (the first one didn’t work at all and looked like it was a return). This one doesn’t work at all either. Waste your money if you want but with the second one not even working either. It’s a bum. Great idea if it would work.

I purchased the Alec Candle Holder in June. I have been using it about once every few days and I absolutely love it. However, today the black metal circle attached to the lid with what appears to be sticky foam pieces completely fell off into a burning candle. The metal sheet became very hot and started to melt into the sides. Luckily I blew the candle out before it melted any further. I tried to reattach the metal circle with no success. I tried to reach out to the company for help but received no response. So in the end, it was a waste of money.

I may not have read the full details, but the thing looks glass and the cost should be glass, but it's plastic. It's not necessarily a bad thing as I gifted it to someone who has a kitten who has knocked over a few things and broke them.However, at the price tag, if I got it for myself I'd be really disappointed.The closing mechanism works, but the box did not come with a charger cord. Took us forever to figure out what cord it uses, so fyi it's a lightning cable.

It looks exactly like the photos!! It also feels really durable. SUPER easy to use and aesthetically pleasing. I got the white one and it fits perfectly anywhere around the house. Couldn't have been happier for my ALEC to arrive.Just a great staple for the house especially if you're a candle lover like me. It works like a charm.
