Do not buy! Autotune 2.0 software will not connect to pc or iphone. Alpine confirmed software was bad but then offered no solution. Over 2 weeks of trying to get alpine to give me a solution. When I was lucky enough to get someone on the phone, all I got was a promise of a call back that I never received. Lifetime Alpine user, no more.

Can't recommend this product enough. It replaced a LCQ-1 that was a piece of garbage. It fixed all problems. Fader and Balance actually work. Sub works all the time. No dirty POTS to deal with. Really like the system based EQ and tuning, above the parametric EQ for each channel. Software works great and is very easy to use. Watch the YouTube video on how to use it.My only real complaint is wiring harness gets pretty bulky when using hi-level inputs with a factory radio. Would have rather had terminal blocks for all connections. Wish the remote-out could handle a little more current. (I use the remote-out to also power some small fans that I had to disconnect.)

Have had in my 2018 f150 for about a year now’s I use this guy as my main source. I connect to this via Bluetooth and the sound quality is perfect. The optim tuning software is easy to work, it took me 1 hour to tune the whole car. Overall the build quality is nice, came with mounting brackets.

First the documentation is garbage, and the software could include some documentation, but it does not, Alpine needs to fix that. Alpine put out some videos showing the software but doesn't cover everything , especially wiring and just using the remote unit. I figured it all out but would have saved time if they included it in the manual. This thing can assign left and right or both to each channel on the inputs and outputs so even though the harness is not labeled left right, front rear etc... the plug goes in order power the left front, right etc. but if you find one that is not correct you can simply change it in the software so you don't have to switch wires around, using the mix menu. you can use this for any radio, factory or aftermarket, even no radio at all if you choose. you can eq the input, setup an auto eq to flatten everything out, plus you can add 6 preset eq curves that let you not only change the eq but also crossover setting, and channel levels. so, you can adjust the sound to your liking after you set up the auto eq to correct frequency response. Don't forget to save all of your setting on the eq preset screen. The remote lets you mute the sound, change volume, change subwoofer level, and select the 6 eq presets you program in. Programming requires a laptop, auto eq can use an iPhone or external mic, it should come with the mic but does not. It's not specifically stated but the mic and software are the same as the OPTIM 8. As with all digital sound processing there is some static hiss if you turn the remote volume up and leave it there. Its minimal if the volume is around 20 and zero if you use the volume to control the sound level and just leave the volume on the head unit turned up a ways. Amp setup is going to change your individual settings, for volume control. Overall, this is much better in every respect than the AudioControl DQ61 I was using. I am using an AudioControl 6 channel amp for a 3 way front stage and separate amp for subwoofer. 8 channels would be nice but using the amp and the Optim 6 together I was able to adjust everything to sound superbly. Better than I could ever get it to sound with the DQ61. Overall I'm very impressed with the sound and adjustability. To get the pc software I had to go to Alpines overseas website as the US page was broken at the time.
