Don't kid yourself, this thing is HEAVY. That's not a problem in my case since I have it installed on a dedicated trainer frame. The hardware that comes with it is quality too so I don't hesitate recommending it.

Based on some Y-Tube recommendations, bought this to replace the stock stem that came on my Schwinn Al Comp, which is closer to 80mm, in order to get my handlebars just a touch closer for a more upright riding position.Stem was shipped and arrived quickly. It's definitely not a looker by any means - it's about as utilitarian looking as my stock big box stem, and it's significantly heavier than the stem I replaced. But for my usage (mountain bike used around town and light off-road for fitness) I'm not worried about looks or weight. My priorities were cost, size (short stem), and durability, and this covers all those bases.Install was a breeze - taking the old stem off, putting this new one on, and getting everything aligned took maybe 15 minutes while drinking my morning coffee. Screws threaded evenly and without issue, and I didn't need to change any of my spacers vs stock stem. Everything seems solid, and based on its beefiness and weight, I'm thinking long term durability should be no problem. If you're looking for something light, or svelte, this might not be your best choice. But for the price, this is a great option for a short stem that feels built to last. Can't comment on how it would hold up to heavy abuse, since I have no plans for that kind of riding, but it feels like it could take some hits - your mileage may vary.Hope that helps!

It’s a good fitting part with a strong hold of the bars. The biggest problem with this stem is that it’s not the light stem out there. But for the cost it’s a good buy! Recommend for budget friendly builds.

It's a descent stem. It's a little on the heavy side but meets my needs and it arrived ahead of time.

Très esthétique. Les vis ont été graissé d'avance. Est arrivé avant la date prévue. Honnêtement, je ne regrette pas de l'avoir acheté.

Took a chance and bought 2, one for my wifes bike that she mostly uses to ride concrete trails and our fat bike. I was fully expecting to have to chase the treads on some of the holes as noted in some of the other reviews. Shipping was quick so no issues there and I did have to chase the threads on every screw hole but I have had to do this for some of the holes on other more expense items I have purchased over the years so it was not a big deal. What I wasn't expecting was how beefy and stocky these stems are. They are as good as the expenive 40mm one (TruvatIv Hoizfeller) I bought for my MTB and I wish I had tried these first. Based on price, fit and how stocky they are these were 5 star items for me.

Thought this was going to be a low end product with poor machining and finish. But luckily it is the opposite. High quality machine work and a nice satin finish makes this show as a much higher priced stem than it is. And it works great! I did not have any of the problems other mentioned about bad, shallow or missing threads. All screws worked properly, and fit and finish were top notch.

Did what I needed to do - bring the handlebar closer. As others have mentioned, it is surprisingly heavy. Really heavy. I am not sure that I believe it is alloy. I suspect that is false and that it is made of steel. In fact, if it was a softer material I would have said it's made of lead. It really is that heavy. Should be durable, though.

Based on reviews I expected this thing to be a brick, but was a good weight, definitely not light though. Overall you can't ask for a better value. As some reviews had mentioned the screws on the face plate seem poorly tapped, but mine tightened to torque spec no problem. Nice, short, durable stem fid better descent control!

So, If I were judging it on weight alone I'd give it a 1 star, but because it looks and feels like it will never break....ever.. and it cost less than $10 plus it's nice looking and does what it's supposed to do (which is reduce the length of the stem which allows for far better control and maneuverability) I'm very satisfied. For context, it weighs more than twice as much as the Trek Bontrager 90mm oem stem I removed from a Trek X-Caliber 8 bike. So, yeah, it's crazy heavy for being aluminum. Again though, it is super thick and unlikely to fail ever fail. actually, it would probably survive some DH trails that a high end Raceface (which I also use) or Easton stem would fail. Remember, the high end names must find and even balance between weight and strength. Often times weight is more important that strength. This stem is definitely moimpfocused on strength.
