Works as expected, and swivels easily. Sturdy enounght to hold, book, iPad or recipes. It does take up more counter space than anticipated, but overall very good product

Any negative reviews for this product are user error. This book holder is fabulous! It holds oversized books, hymnals and tablets with ease. As with any jointed item, you may need to tighten the nuts/bolts at the joints for the heavier items, but they provide you with an allen wrench and a nut wrench that work great. You can see in my pictures it’s holding up a full Catholic hymnal perfectly. It’s easy to adjust the height and angle, and it holds beautifully. It also folds nice and flat to carry from gig to gig. It doesn’t have legs for the floor, but on a table or organ console - it’s the perfect tool for rehearsals and performances. I’m thrilled with this purchase.

As soon as I heard from my doctor that I had neck arthritis, I bought this bookstand and received it today. It is heavy (metal) and has a non-slip pad on the bottom, so it is very stable, and it has a 360-degree connection point that makes it easy to control the direction. You can adjust the direction and height to suit you, so you no longer have to bend your neck to read a book. In particular, using the phone here is perfectly comfortable. It has much higher usability than expected. One bad thing was that there was no anti-scratch film attached to the acrylic board, so the board arrived with some scratches here and there.

Read to the end on how to make this one of the better stands out there and the only stand I'm keeping. Purchased to use as a laptop stand. Out of the box I had problems with it not holding up my 13" macbook pro laptop. I kept tightening the bolts but it never got tight enough to hold the laptop firmly in place. It would keep sagging. The issues is that there are two teflon (plastic) washers at each of the bolt locations. Once I removed the outer washer (see picture) and tightened everything back up it works fine. With two plastic washers installed there is not enough friction to hold up a heavy'ish item like a laptop in place. For those reading this and considering not buying it, I do recommend this stand and would caution against other products that you can't control the tensioning system. I've now purchased three of these from different brands off of amazon and this is the only one I'm keeping because the other two will not hold my laptop either. Both of the others lack a way to manually tension the system. This stand comes with a little wrench so it actually includes all the necessary tools making the modification super easy. Hopefully this helps you in your buying decision.
