Ok, so we bought american standard bath tub and this drain was recommended for our model. First, it was very difficult to buy this drain as it usually sells in US and delivery to Canada was not available. We found it here, thanks Amazon! This drain is super expensive but we need it so fine. When installing, our contractor realized that he needs to get rid of a part of it to fit in out tub. At the end of the day, we could've got different brand, much cheaper that would fit better, what do you know? Well, lesson learned.

The strain kit is a perfect fit and replacement for the cheap plastic model 1599500.020. It's much higher quality and solid metal. And it's also cheaper than the garbage plastic one

To set the record straight, my tub, mortar and drain were all installed by a professional plumber for roughly $600 worth of labor over 4 hours with no leaks, no problems with alignment, and no fuss. The drain is somewhat flimsy on the top of the tub and doesn't seem to be secured very well thus me taking off one star. The rest of this drain is solid. Highly recommend this instead of the cheap ABS plastic drain.

Hey American Standard. Did you ever think of taking the pieces you were putting in the box to send to you customers and just taking 5 seconds to see if they fit together? I actually know the answer, it's NO! Because if you did you certainly would not have sent me a vertical drain piece that won't fit into the T connector unless I hammer them together? Now I have 2 plumbers ready to install AS tub, which says I have to have this very overflow with it, standing around. Will have to reschedule them when I get new parts. Thanks for nothing. Last time I buy American Standard.Update: I called AS support and asked if the could send me a replacement and they said if I provided them with the correct receipt etc... they would. However when I asked if they could make sure the pieces fit together before they shipped it to me they said they couldn't, which was not helpful. So I'm going to get the new piece, we'll see how it goes. I'll update when info is available. So far really disappointed in AS support.
