Ampelosaurus atacis ( Vine Lizard )was a modestly sized titanosaur that lived in France during the Late Cretaceous described in 1995 by J. Le Loeuff. The Titanosaurinae filled the ecological niche left vacant by the Jurassic Sauropods. Haolonggood has released an exceptional figure for 2023.The sculpt ; Like some titanosaurs it was protected by an armored hide and Haolonggood doesn’t disappoint. Their Ampelosaurus certainly excels with an impressively armored body bearing enormous bony knobs and osteoderms with minuscule scaling coupled with skin creases. An impressively adorned sculpt with an elaborate artistry lavished throughout. The head sculpt is derived from related species thus appears plausible. The manus are sculpted with the distinctive horseshoe shape particular to the titanosauriformes. The pallete ; An incredibly varied and nuanced paint scheme which astounds at every angle. Multiple primary, secondary, and accent colours all blended to visual arete. Again, two variations are released. Sun Er Niang ( Second sister Sun ) features a myriad of hues one would scarcely expect on a sauropod. The ostentatious display conjures visions of socio-specialized individuals advertising vitality, and defiance towards predation. The pose ; Depicting a mature female graceful and stately, the figure frozen in graceful stride. The head positioned high and appears alert with a slight curving to the left. The fluidity of the pose illustrates the changing opinions of these beautiful and extraordinary behemoths. Their silent remains still inspire awe among young and old.Titanosaurs are a relatively obscure clade when compared to the sauropods of the Jurassic. Ampelosaurus appears in figure form by CollectA and Mattel’s Jurassic World franchise. Among sauropod figures this stands apart for the sheer complexity, vibrancy, and elegance.
