Simply fill a vessel with Annealing Bubbles and plunge beads in to cool slowly, minimizing internal stresses. The unique silica composition and hollow spherical form provide ideal properties for cooling beads, allowing hot beads to be easily slid into a vessel filled with smooth lightweight bubbles that provide superior thermal insulation. Annealing Bubbles won't stick to glass or mar the surface of warm glass. Use at room temperature or place vessel on warming plate. 15 oz.

the annealing bubbles worked great for my lampworking demonstration. I was demonstrating creating glass beads on a torch: after finishing the beads, I let the molten glass cool slightly by moving the beads to a cooler part of the flame. When the glass reached a solid state, i buried the still very hot beads in the annealing bubbles.. The soft glass (COE 104) slowly cooled down with no cracking. I would not count on the annealing beads to work for medium to large beads, but they work great for small ones. I will still properly anneal the glass beads I made in my kiln before using or selling them.

This product is FAR superior to the fiber blanket that is generally used by beginning lampworkers or those who don't own their own kiln. With a fiber blanket you must lift it up to insert each new bead, thereby releasing heat. With the annealing bubbles all you have to do is pour them in a jar and stick each mandrel in it. I have made many beads using this and none have cracked.
