I love Analon and I love this Skillet. So large! It heats up super fast, and cooks food high and evenly. What I would cook in another skillet on med high, I would cook on medium low in this skillet.

(July 18, 2020) What changed about this pan over the last 6 years? The first time I purchased this pan was at Costco about 6 or 7 years ago for around $40. It quickly became my "go-to" pan. It is perfect when cooking for 4-6 people and I loved everything about it. Alas, "non-stick" coating doesn't last forever (even when using just wooden utensils on it) -- and I get that. So I reluctantly tossed out my old pan and toddled over to Amazon to buy a replacement in 2019. WHOA!! Price is now over $100. This pan has been "discovered!" Anyway, it's a pan I use almost every day, so I purchased it and was prepared for 5 or 6 years of useful life (before having to replace again).WRONG! Using my new pan the same way I used my old one, this new one warped in about 6 months. I mean, warped pretty bad, such that if you try to cook bacon (which is one of the key tasks I do with this pan), the bacon on one side gets done way faster than on the other side. I can literally stick a spoon under the pan on one side without lifting the other. "No worries," I thought... the much-VAUNTED "Lifetime Guarantee" to the rescue! So I went to the company's website, submitted all the evidence (which included a photos of the information on the bottom of the pan, as well as the pan with a spoon underneath) and sent it off to the company. I got the perfunctory email back that it would take 2-4 weeks to process my claim. Meanwhile, I continued to use the pan... and the pan continued to warp. So two weeks later, I took another picture of the situation and sent it off to the company. That was on June 8, 2020. It is now July 18th and I haven't heard "boo" from Analon Consumer Relations. Nada. Bupkis. So here I find myself on Amazon, looking to buy another 5 qt saute pan with a lid... but I will NOT purchase another Analon pan, as much as I loved my first one. Either their manufacturing changed, or their promised guarantee is a joke. Either way, I can NOT recommend this version of the Analon 12" 5-qt saute pan if you have to cook on a flat surface.Writing this review makes me sad... I thought I had found my lifetime pan (knowing I would have to replace it every 5-6 years because even the BEST non-stick doesn't last forever). But warping after less than a year? And completely ignoring my Warranty Claim? Completely UNACCEPTABLE.(July 25, 2020) UPDATE: Back to a 5 star rating. This pan (after trying many others over the years) remains my favorite 12-inch, 5 QT sauté pan. But not without a struggle. After sending Customer Service a copy of this review on July 18, I received a replacement pan in the mail a week later. It was over two months from my original Warranty Claim, but they came through. This is a tremendous relief, as I cannot find any other pan to match the features I love about this one and I dearly hope that they have not changed their manufacturer over the last 6 years and that this pan lasts as long as my first one. “Non-stick” does NOT last a lifetime, no matter how carefully you treat the surface… But that is the case with even the most expensive version of the Calphalon pans, so it is to be expected. The warping of the pan was not.I’ll attribute Analon’s slow response to these bizarre times we are currently living in with COVID However, they said in their original response email that it would be “2-4 weeks for my warranty claim to be processed.” Eight weeks later, they came through. Perhaps they should adjust their automatic email response.(Sept. 13, 2020) ADDITIONAL COMMENT: As I went to throw away the warped pan purchased a year+ ago, I noticed something curious... so I weighed the pan (just the pan, not the pan + lid) that I purchased a year+ ago and the new, warranty-replaced pan. Interesting. The new pan is over 18% lighter (3lb 13.375 oz vs 4lb 11 oz). As this is a LARGE pan, it's actually good if it performs as well (or better) as the year-ago model. But if it warps more easily... well... ANYWAY, this confirms my suspicion that there have been changes to this pan over the years. It LOOKS the same, but the Analon 12" Saute Pan of today, is not the pan I originally purchased many years ago, and again just a year+ ago. Time and use will tell. But wanted to include this information for anyone (like me) who is replacing an older version of this pan.

This is a well weighted, well built pan, I bought it for its constructive quality and its size.It has deep sides which lessens spatter when cooking greasy foods like steaks and pork chops.I took one star off because I think the main handle could be a little thicker for the weight of the pan.The insulated handles all around make for safer and easier cooking.Another thing is that since it has the same non stick on the outside of the pan, this also makes cleaning the outside easier. For some reason it jumped up in price by $30.00 right after I bought it here at Amazon.ca ???Nevertheless its still a fair market value for what you get.I will not be using any steel utensils with it to make the pan last longer.

I've used the Anolon pan with glass lid for more years than you can imagine. (I've even given it as a gift for friends because it is so versatile in the kitchen.) The size - 12" - is generous for cooking food and I love the fact that it is a non-stick pan (good to keep calories and fat down.) The first design worked well, but this new Advanced design (with helper handles and a secure handled lid) is even BETTER than ever, and it's oven safe, too! One note: You do have to practice care with this pan. (NEVER use metal utensils on it, nor non-stick spray, nor excessively high heat - no need for it anyway - because it will tear up the non-stick teflon type surface. (The first one that I enjoyed for over 15 years, looked like it went through the war, but I still used it to its final hour!) It is not a stretch to say I use this saute pan daily. This one will last even longer because I intend on doing my part to take care in its handling. It is the main staple in my kitchen equipment supply! (Would have given it 5 stars if I wouldn't have to be so careful with the teflon coating.)

I bought this about 4 months ago and use it several times per week. Even though I cook a lot, I am not usually one to shell out over $100 on a single pan. This was totally worth it! This one is a keeper. Truly non-stick, easy to clean, larger size can accommodate a big meal! It is heavy, but this helps with even heating (and heat retention). Looks and feels very well-made, should provide one with a lifetime of culinary delights. We're getting to be good friends, this pan and I. Bon appetit!UPDATE: Over 2 years later (May 2011) and the pan and I are like BFFs. Still cooking delightful meals, accommodating both small and surprisingly large portions, non-stick in-tact. I stand behind my previous review. Add this to your cookware arsenal and you will not be disappointed.

I've used this pan a few months now, and the non-stick part is still working just fine. I usually just rinse in really hot water, and wipe it clean. This pan heats evenly, and has solved my burning problems on my all electric stove, especially at the center of previous pans. I has nice square sides so the food isn't always trying to slide to the middle, so it effectively gives you more usable cooking space. One hidden gotcha, the manually saw to never use more than medium heat, but it cooks just fine at medium since the heat is spread out better. You might need another pan if you want to seer something over high heat, however, but that's probably true of any non-stick coating.Update: Over 6 years, and still going strong. Surface is still doing great. I rarely use any oil on this, if I'm cooking meat, and it still doesn't stick. Nice for frying, or even cooking something like spaghetti, since the pan has high sides. It is quite heavy, especially when it's full, but the second handle handles that well. Only downside I've found is that it's hard to flip heavy items since the sides are vertical. There's no slope to get the "flip" started on, and you have to scoop underneath it, lift it's full weight, and then flip it. It's not a problem on things like burgers, but can be a challenge on larger items. This is a minor annoyance, since the alternative is losing a lot of usable space (see above). Get the strongest thinnest non-stick flipper you can find (metal would make lifting easier, but I don't want to risk scratches). This is the first expensive pan I've bought, and it was well worth the investment.
