About this item

  • Motion detection function- dual PIR sensor
  • Star monitor alerts you when your battery is low
  • Daylight Sensor- turns light off during daylight hours
  • Can also function as a regular porch light
  • Installs easily, uses same hole pattern and wiring as most standard lights

This product is a replacement outside round light with battery and motion sensor capabilities. Fixture can be a regular porch light or a motion sensor light with a flick of the switch. It can also differentiate between small animals and people to reduce false detection at night. Photo sensor allows the unit to be fully automated, turning off during the day automatically, and on at night when proper motion is detected. Battery sensor triggers a red LED on the fixture when battery levels reach 11.5 volts for 40 continuous seconds.

I like this light a lot. Nice clean white, strong bright LED. Very high quality. Motion sensor and ability to switch to regular porch light mode with existing switch is awesome. Looks good installed too. Oh and it used my existing screw holes from the old lights for mounting.. very smooth and easy. Very, very detailed, clear instructions.Awesome company with outstanding customer service you dont see these days! I had a small crack in the sensor screen when I took it out of the box and they sent me a whole bunch of replacements for free no questions asked.I was going to put only one of these and 2 regular porch lights on the camper, because I thought it was too much money and not a big deal but after putting this on and seeing it work, upgraded all three to this.

I replaced my factory porch light on my 5th wheel with this light and it works great. I put it in motion detect mode when I go to bed so it is not on all night. It has a light sensor bulit in so it does not turn on during the day. It comes with a clear lens and led bulb that is nice and bright. The led bulb has a rotating head on it so you can aim the light up and down. If you want the amber lens you will have to order it separately. I ordered the amber lens just to have for furture use if needed. I have an led light strip attached to my awning for ambiant light when I sitting out side. I only use this light for security when I go to bed or when I am away from the rv. If somebody walk up to my rv during the night it turns on.

My rating for this product has ranged from 5-stars then to 1-star and now 4-stars. Here's why. Like a few other reviewers, my SL-1000 failed too soon IMHO (a year and a half after purchase). The light continued working as a entry light but would not detect motion. The option to return it thru Amazon had expired :(. However, I contacted the company directly ([...]) and explained my situation. To my surprise customer support was willing to work with me. They first requested I try a couple of things to resolve the problem; here's what they suggested: "The first thing I would try is to take your coach off of shore power tonight and see if that helps. If it does, then the circuit you have the lights on has "dirty power"...meaning there is something else on that circuit. You can correct that by connecting the lights directly to battery power." This troubleshooting suggestion did not resolve the problem. So, the company sent me a new light!!!!! I installed it yesterday and it works great. I'm cautiously optomistic that this light will function trouble-free for years to come. For anyone else who's had a premature problem with this light (after the manufacturer's and Amazon warranty expired) I suggest you contact Starlights directly with the link I provided and see what they can do for you.For those who like a little extra security around your RV these lights are outstanding (I have two of the SL-2000s and one SL-1000). We boondock a lot and I love the added security that these lights offer.Below are my previous reviews...I'm so impressed with this light that I'm replacing both of our 'scare' lights with the SL-2000 Smart Light. The SL-1000 installed easily in our 2004 Alumascape, and functions just as designed. We can set the light in auto mode and leave knowing that if we return after dark we'll have well-lit entry way. BTW, there is no guessing about what mode you are in, a small LED indicator on the unit let's you know. It blinks blue when in auto mode (day), blinks green in auto mode (night) and blinking red if your RV battery is getting low.We do a lot of boondocking so having our 'scare' lights function in auto mode will provide another layer of security.UPDATE: I dropped my 5-star rating to 1-star. One star for the single year it worked!!!! While it does still work as a porch light the motion detection (the reason I bought it) does not!!! The SL-2000s motion lights we bought at the same time still work perfectly. I'll be calling Starlight to discuss this problem.

Installed on my Keystone Cougar XLite 5th Wheel. Holes lined up perfectly with the original porch lite. I really like being able to see the battery level, too. They also make an amber replacement lens - it would be nice if you could purchase that already on the light instead of having to buy separately, or include both in the box. It's nice that the LED light's angle is adjustable. I love this light. I just leave it switched on all the time and it's nice to be able to just walk up at night and it turn on. Mine is on the same circuit as the courtesy stair light, so I just disconnected that bulb as I don't even need it with this light. It is plenty bright.

This light replaces the stock light on many RV's. I installed it on my Four Wheel Pop-up Camper, and it works very well mounted on the passenger side under my factory awning. It is very sensitive and can be adjustable to make the light come on with larger masses. The only thing I had to do was install a switch on the bottom side of the light so I can turn it off. If purchasing this light, the one thing you should consider is that if your circuit is not switched somehow inside of the coach, you will have to turn the main power of the RV off while travelling at night. On my FWC, I found that the light would come on while travelling at night, because the light is not switched. When I cut the main power (to avoid the light coming on) it shut my fridge off and also didn't allow my truck to charge my camper batteries. Simple solution for me was to carefully install a switch at the bottom of the light so I could cut the power to the light when not in use. As for what switch to use, I simply took apart the old light (originally from the camper when it was new) and used the switch from the bottom of that light for the Starlights. Other than that, it works very well and I'm very happy with the light - I just wish I would known this before I purchased. I'm hoping to save somebody from the same dillema by posting this. I wonder if they sell this same light with a factory switch installed - if they do, I may buy 3 more!!! Good luck. I will try and post some pictures of my switch.
