After over three years of regular use this item developed pinhole leaks. If I knew more about repair than duct tape it probably could have been fixed, but I was satisfied enough to purchase a second one.

I live near Phoenix in AZ. The sun is punishing and the typical pool supply store backwash hose cost around $25 and last a year or two. This hose is much thicker and I set it up so I only keep about 4 ft of it outside because there is a quick disconnect.I cut about 4 ft from the male side of the hose and put it on my backwash discharge pipe with a cheap coupler. This way I can easily roll the small male hose side attached to he the filter and keep it out of the sun under the filter. When I go to backwash I bring the 45-46 ft hose out from the garage and connect to the male side already on hooked to the filter.Great product and easy solution for a backwash hose that will last a long time.

Heavy duty hose I used for discharging excess swimming pool water. This is a quality product unlike the cheap paper-thin, one-season discharge hoses normally sold for residential swimming pools. The quick disconnect is a strong connector (similar to fire hoses) that may require some adapters for attachment to a pool’s pvc discharge pipe. A hardware store with a supply of pvc fittings may help. The handling of the hose’s weight may not appeal to everyone as this is not really a light-weight consumer product for the ladies. But, you may never blow another hose.Update May 18, 2018: I needed another 50 ft of hose to reach the street to discharge excess pool water. The connectors make additional lengths of hose easy to connect, if needed. Also, Two 50’ lengths is a bit more convenient to handle than a single 100’ hose.

I needed a pool back washing solution as my pump/filter is located close to my property line and my neighbor didn't appreciate all the added water on his property. This hose kit works great. I bought two of the 50', married them together with the poly cam locks and then cut the end off of one of the hoses and band clamped it to a section of rigid PVC coming off the backwash plumbing. Best part is when I kick the pump on this hose is heavy duty enough to stay where I put it while the water flows which isn't something I can say about those cheap, thin hoses most pool stores sell. Plus I can just loosen the band clamp and the whole setup comes off for easy storage. It does have that industrial smell that others have mentioned but I suspect that will fade with time. Highly recommend this hose for this kind of purpose.

This hose is not good used one time to drain small pool and the next use had pin holes through the entire hose. It’s a waste of money

This came directly from a shipyard on the east coast. Guess if it's good enuf for them, it's good enuf for me. I like the fact that this came already assembled with both ends on the hose. The only down side is the operator needs to make sure the hose doesn't have too many bends in it when discharging. That comes with the territory considering this hose rolls up very compactly like a fire hose. The best advice I can give to combat the "bends" is to consider buying a 90 degree elbow for your discharge (depending on how your pump is set up, it may already have a 90 degree discharge) so you can draft into the pump in a straight line with the pump housing and then discharge at a 90 degree angle away from where you are sucking up the water. The elbow may allow you to straighten the hose out completely with no bends during discharge operations. The only elbow I found on here was about $53, almost as much as this hose, so I am looking for one that's less expensive, if anybody wants to send me a link if they find one. Plastic or metal is OK, either one. Overall, a very good hose.
