Easy install, just get the back of the air box down flush first then the front. Follow instructions on YouTube for R&R.Short version:Remove top of air box, 4 capture screws 6mm socketPull up on back of filter to free from groove in sits inPull filter back away from air intakeInstall new filter first by inserting male end in intake and then seating in groove at rear of filter housingSeat top of air box from back to front making sure it is flush with lower box and then frontTighten, but not over tighten, 4 screws.Funny thing is the old filter which was in the car when I bought it 7 years ago is the same make and model so I would say it is a quality filter.

I went to one of those stores—you know the one. The kind where they tell you a simple car part costs $60, like they’re selling you a piece of automotive gold. I smiled, nodded, and said, “Thanks, but I’ll just buy it on Amazon.” And honestly? Best decision ever. This filter works perfectly for my 2013 Ford Escape. I’ve bought one every year for the past three years, and it always does its job—collecting all the things that have no business being in my car’s air system. Plus, it’s so easy to install that even I can do it without breaking a sweat. And I say that as someone whose usual idea of “car maintenance” is filling up the gas tank and hoping for the best. Now, let me tell you why I religiously change my filters. When I was younger, my car started to develop a funk. Not just a “forgot my gym bag in here” smell—something worse. A car guy took one whiff and said, “You probably have a mouse living in your filter.” I laughed. He didn’t. He popped it open and, sure enough—tiny, uninvited tenant, complete with a little nest. That was the day I learned two important lessons: 1) Car filters are NOT optional, and 2) Mice are freeloading jerks. So now? I replace mine regularly, and this one does the trick for way less than the big-name stores want to charge. No complaints—just clean air and a mouse-free existence. Highly recommend!
