the axles are very limited in the travel, they start to bind with any power applied to the front axles.

I went with a new CV Axle because a replace boot cost 1/3 to 1/2 the cost of an axle (which is probable worn and will need replacement). (Although the split boot looks like it improved over the years.) I paid a higher price hoping I to get a better product. It fit, went on smoothly. No complaints.

Replaced driver side cv axle because of torn boot. The part I received fit and the workmanship looked good. Will need to get a couple of thousand miles on the part to do a value for the money evaluation.
