The unit is really well engineered, easy to fit, and does the job intended. I also followed other reviewers recomendations to reverse the two connnectors in the wiring harness clip, and the motor worked the right way taking window down.Nice having a drivers window that works again. Would def recommend purchase. Dont be put of by price!! thinking just cheapie option thats rubbish its NOT!!.

This was my first window motor replacement. Works how it says on the tin. Installed fine, but window would go up if you pressed down, and down if you pressed up.HOW TO FIX:Most things on the web will say swap the cable around, but this is directly connected to the motor with only one connection block. There are two metal terminals in the connector. If you look inside, there are small tabs on either one holding it into the plastic casing (connector block). Press those tabs down with a REALLY small screwdriver, slide out and put the wires into the block the other way round. Fixed.

Overall this proved to me a good purchase. I needed to replace the power window motor in the left front door of my 2003 Forester and this is the correct part for that application. Changing the motor is a somewhat complex job, but that’s no negative reflection on the part; that’s a Subaru thing. It took about 3 hours to do the job but I was being careful with each step and someone more familiar with the job might be able to get it done more quickly. The one thing that keeps me from giving 5 stars is that the wiring is inverted, requiring you to pull the pins out of the socket and switch them. That seems odd to me but I was thankful other reviewers mentioned it and I knew to test first before putting everything together.

this luft motor is the exact replacement motor for driver side window on 2006 Subaru Gorester. must use philips no 3 bit to remove the three holding screws. warning the wiring is reversed. unless you use the old wiring harness or switch the two input wires, the lift motor will work in reverse. press up and the wibdow goes down and press down, yhe windows goes up. if you dont switch, just know the power window button works in recerse. no big deal because the power window is working again. 4 stars for rating. plus i gave inportant tip. use number 3 philips screw head bit that is the larget size.

it was wired backwards so it would go up when it should go down and visa versa .... ended re-installing it a few times before I figured that out. Switched the connector leads then it work well ... spent 2 hours more then I should have on it so a more expensive part would have actually been cheaper.

This product *will* work on the passenger side, but you cannot put the speaker back in place.

As others have said, the polarity is reversed so you need to switch the prongs but that's easy and it works like a dream. Getting the old one out was VERY difficult because my bolts were rusted in, but installing the new one was a breeze.

Can't really complain for the price but I did have to switch the pins on the connector (easy with a small screwdriver). The cable is way too short, I had to remove the plug on the door and bring it down into a different position to get it to clip. Seems to work as is.

Replaced the driver's side front motor in my 07 Forester. Fits. Works. Good stuff. Here's to hoping it has longevity. Enjoy the install - it's all by feel (not the fault of this item - that's just the way it goes with window motors). Recommendation: loosen the bolts that hold the housing surrounding the motor, but don't remove them altogether. If you do, you'll spend an inordinate amount of time getting everything re-aligned so you can run those bolts back in straight.

Works great. Its like having a brand new window. More powerful up and down and the window actually goes up about 1/4 inch further now making a better seal with the door frame, which can be a noise issue for older Subarus. Be sure to read the other reviews about swapping the polarity on the plug. And if your regulator is working fine and you are just replacing the motor (most common), I highly suggest watching the Youtube video with the walk through of changing just the motor. I was able to change out the motor in about 30 minutes after watching that video.
