I have a family of 5 and this filter is used in our kitchen sink. It flows very well with no major loss of pressure, and you can really taste the difference when it's being used. I replace it every 4-6 months and I'm very happy I'm able to give my family cleaner water to drink.

You'll notice when you look at the listing, it shows that you should definitely make sure that you have a hexagon shape on the top of your old filter before trying to install the new filter. I did that. Also, I have to admit that whether it's this filter or the GE one, it has always been difficult to reinstall the filter. It seems to me that it requires a lot of upward pressure before you twist and my unit is just not mounted firmly enough on the wall to do that. Also there's not enough room under my sink for me to get the leverage to really push the filter up. So, I took the filter cap with the hoses connected off of the wall and turned it upside down and then inserted the new replacement filter into the cap and was able to use my weight to press the filter into the cap and then I was able to turn. Hopefully that little bit of advice might help a few people. Also, as a preventative measure before you get started turn the water off. With me, the water that goes to the filter comes from the faucet supply valve, so I can turn the water off right at the faucet supply valve. And also to eliminate pressure from the system, after turning the water off, run the sink faucet until there's no more water.

Just now tried to install the filter, it doesn't fit even though the number was for our GE brand.

I purchased a pair of these filters to tryout in my GE under sink filter after GE changed the available filters for their system and the new filters only lasted 2 months before water flow was drastically reduced. The previous version of GE filters typically lasted my household 6 months before the water flow was noticeably slower. These aftermarket filters fit the GE system without issue and have performed, as far as I can tell without water testing, just as well as the original GE filters. The water flavor with a brand new GE filter was almost sweet but that didn't last long. This filter removes the chlorine taste but doesn't add much to the flavor at all. Which is fine by me. I want stuff removed, not added to my tap water. After six months of use these Aqua Crest filters seem worth it.

I have had this filter set up since 2018 with no issues. This time however something went wrong when I went to replace the filter. It wouldn't go in. I noticed this filter is *slightly* different in design than the original GE one, but I dont actually think that was the cause of the issue. Either way, with **significant** force (like... way more than many would be able to exert), I got it to go in and turn to seal up. HOWEVER, after initially having water pressurized, about 3 seconds later the entire thing turned and shot off the housing! WATER GUSHING EVERYWHERE! The auto-shutoff did not work and my kitchen started flooding. I was able to get the water shutoff...but it took way too long.Long story short - after replacing the housing, I used this same filter and it connected just fine. So... idk.5 stars... but also they should have a better connection system so this isnt possible. IF it takes a ton of force to go in, something is wrong. It should take a moderate amount of pressure due to the o-rings, but not a lot.

The manufacturer claims that this filter replaces the GE GXULQR OEM water filter. And perhaps it does…at the top. However, be aware that this after market water filter is 1-2 inches longer than the GE filter it is supposed to replace. And in my case, given the very tight space under my kitchen sink, I could not get this filter to fit in. Despite multiple efforts. I figured out what was happening when I laid the two filters together side by side and saw this one was longer. As a result, I immediately returned it to Amazon and will now need to order a GE OEM filter to ensure the replacement fits. Very frustrating and the manufacturer should clearly call this discrepancy in size out to ensure buyers are not misled and end up frustrated like I am right now after waiting days for this filter to arrive and expecting it to work!UPDATE: The same day I found this filter did not fit, I bought a OEM GE filter from Home Depot (delivered overnight for less money than this after market one bought from Amazon) and it immediately fit correctly and worked properly. So be aware of both my original review of the problems with the added length for this after market filter the manufacturer claims replaces the GE GXULQR and also that you can find the GE filter cheaper elsewhere. So buy the GE GXULQR if you want to ensure it fits properly and at a lower cost than this product sold by Amazon.
