Nice, heavy duty stapler. Very useful for upholstery or for sealing plastic to protect plants, etc.

After my no name staple died on me after about 10 years I got this one thinking I was upgrading. This thing is absolute garbage. I can't get more than 5 staple out of it before it stops working again and I even bought the Arrow T50s to go with it. Which really sucks because it take me a few tries to hit what I am trying to tack down. I'm either going to give it away to someone I hate or throw it in the trash.

I have been buying Arrow products for 50 years, no kidding. I used this stapler to install 1/2" staples and 3/4" brads. I don't think I used it for more than 100 cycles, perhaps 90 brads and 10 staples. As soon as I had to reload from testing with staples, I removed all staples but I noted that the prod didn't retract as it should and the rivet holding the spring had fallen out. Wow, it's a delicate mechanism. I found all the parts but I now have to figure out how to reassemble it. While taking out one of the screws I literally twisted the head off of the screw with a hand held screwdriver. I love my old electric Arrow stapler and chrome unit, both very durable. Perhaps I just got a lemon but indeed I won't buy one of these again. I can't see how it would be robust enough even for light use.

This is a professional level hand stapler from the company who has led the construction stapler industry. This T50Red2 latest generation stapler features an ergonomic handle and a 2 power setting design. Low power will save hand strength when using 1/4, 5/16, or 3/8 staples. High setting will give power to sink the staples when using 1/2 or 9/16 staples. The density and hardness of the substrate also will determine which setting works best. There is a handy belt clip on the rear side. It is very useful and its low profile design keeps it out of the way. The stapler loading mechanism is an evolved design that gives easy loading, secure closure and consistent feed of staples. The recessed design keeps it from accidentally being bumped and opening during use. Classic red is a great color. The short head design allows it to get up close against work pieces for tight spot stapling. One of the best on the market. I appreciate the opportunity to review it. 5 stars for this one.

We all know the staple gun to use was the arrow brand, big, chrome and reliable, nothing is going to better it. Sure, they added brads eventually, but most didn't care.. Then they came out with this model, which actually improved on the best without making it heavy or adding electricity! What they improved over the old faithful1) belt clip.. this is vastly more useful than you can imagine, especially when crawling in attics or whatever2) more comfortable handle. This is the only part that's plastic, but it's so robust that there is no way it'll break. It has a sort of cam setup inside of it that helps make it easier to us3) force adjustment lever4) loading media from the bottom is much better than the old way of doing it from the back. I realize this was added in a prior version (when they added brads) but it's still noteworthy5) not held together at the front with a single pin that will eventually lose the c-clip, throw staples all over and get replaced by a bent framing nail (yep, all my old ones had that nail in it by the time i replaced themAll this was the same or better price than before.

We got this after looking at (and returning) a number of modern "heavy duty" T50 staple guns that were NOT "heavy duty" at all. In fact, on a fir 2x4, we found that these imposters would drive a staple only about 1/8 inch into the wood; that was all, with the rest of the staple sticking up from the surface. This stapler solves that issue. It sinks Arrow 1/2-inch staples nicely into the fir on its high setting; on its low setting, there's about 1/32 inch of daylight left under the crown of the staple. So this has plenty of force, and the force does adjust. For manual staple guns, 1/2-inch is a respectable sized staple. The handle is composite but it is supported by a metal roller arm underneath, so the handle is indeed strong. From the listing we thought the handle was all composite (which would seem likely to crack off sooner or later under good use), but we were happy to see that the hand mechanism is far more substantial. It does take some hand strength to operate this tool, but no more than what was required to operate some of the other "heavy duty" (not) guns that didn't do a good job of driving staples. We haven't tried driving brads with this so cannot comment on that function. The setbacks from the edges and front of the staple gun to the staple exit itself (right, left and front) are a little wider than what you see on most lighter staple guns, simply because this is a larger tool with a wider "nose" (meaning the front or "business end" of the gun). Accordingly, you may not be able to drive staples with the same degree of accurate placement that you can get with smaller, lighter duty guns - you can't snug the staple exit up right next to where you want the staple to go as you can with lighter guns. That said, we have scribed lines on the front and both sides in order to help out with accuracy. Additionally, the gun comes with small raised triangles on each side that indicate where the staple will exit although they are kind of hard to see because they are painted red like the rest of the gun and thus don't stand out (we scraped the paint off to make them more visible). We were looking for a beefy manual staple gun and this is a beefy manual staple gun. I don't think we'll be achieving quite the same accuracy of placement that we would with a lighter tool but out goal is to sink staples into wood and do a good job of that. Very happy with this tool.
