To summarize, we had issues with our first oven due to contamination and poor customer service. However, after hearing about our issues someone else at Across International reached out after our oven had been returned (and refunded), apologized for the initial difficulties, and sent us a new oven at no cost. The new oven is now working great and we are impressed with the quality of the oven.Full details:Our originally received oven was not usable (due to massive amounts of contamination in the as-received oven that was deposited during calibration in our laboratory) and had to be returned. We received this original vacuum oven and followed all setup instructions exactly. After temperature cycling of the oven the entire oven was a yellowish-brown color and the shelves had a baked on brown coating – and the oven smelled horrible. According to Across International, the shelves in our oven had a plastic coating on the underside that was not mentioned anywhere in the manual and this coating was not apparent by eye (the coating is grey in color and so appears as unpolished steel, but normally the coating has a label stating that it should be removed, ours did not). We communicated this all with Across International, followed their instruction on cleaning (which failed miserably), and after they offered no solution we returned the oven, which was not easy. After the return was accepted and refunded, I received a call from an Across International employee who apologized for the difficulties and sent us a new oven at no cost. The shelves on the new oven again had the plastic coating on the underside, but the plastic coating had a stamp indicating that the coating should be removed prior to use. It appears that this stamp is normally present and for some reason it had been left off of our previous shelves. The calibration went well and the vacuum oven works as well as any other that I have used. I believe that my initial experience was an outlier both from the lack of labeling and from the customer service standpoint. From a cost and quality standpoint this oven appears to be the best available option, assuming that it holds up well over time.”

Same one I used in college and Industry standard for Low Temperature Vacuum Ovens. I know a few people have no clue how to use or set one up but this is by far the most versatile and easy to use out there. Check out youtube where there are many great videos to help you find the correct setup for what your doing. I bought this after my old one died and like it better than my NA-5831-6 that I have used for many years.

A good budget vacuum chamber option, heating is fairly even, although it's only heated from the bottom and there are a couple spots that run a tiny bit hotter or colder. Over all though, best option in this price range as far as I know.

Vac oven is great for purging volatiles due to the very precise temperature controls. Better than a purging chamber and hot plate by a large margin. Note that it comes UPS freight, so you must schedule the delivery
