I bought these cake decorating tips to add a ruffle effect to my cakes. As a home baker these tips are easy to use, the size is perfect for piping bags and with a tip brush cleans well. Although I am not a professional these tips were a great buy.

These tops are awesome. I had wanted them for almost 2 years and finally ordered them. I made this cake with no issues, so quickly. The bride loved it, too! I didn't practice, although there are many free tutorials out there, they were just so easy to use as long as you know where to point the tip. What a great border. I would think if you needed to hide your top edges, this would be the perfect way to do it. I also used them on my wedding dress cookies. Hugely positive response to everything I've done with these tips. Highly recommend!!

I used the 040 at work (I'm a cake decorator) and I thought, I've got to get myself one of these! I was pleased with the other two as well. They're very nice ruffle tips and I use them for borders. They do work with Wilton couplers even though the Ateco coupler is a little more narrow. When using them for borders you put the tip perpendicular to the cake and, using heavy pressure and a swooping motion, put a ruffle border on your cake. The border will have the appearance of a tablecloth hanging off the edge of a table or like a bed-skirt. Depending on how much you want the ruffle to hang off of the cake, you could have the top of the tip on the edge of the cake (for more ruffle hanging down) or the bottom of the cut on the edge of the cake (for no ruffle hanging off). If your frosting is very thin, the ruffle hanging off the edge might not be such a good idea. Hope this helps!

I'm really surprised how quick it arrived and the tips are made of really nice quality metal. It came with a coupler and works beautifully.
