Works well, just tighten up the screw for larger heavier mics and you're good to go.

Let's face it, equipment gets damage during move-in/out. Microphone holders aren't thought about but if one breaks before the gig... you're wishing you had a spare. Sure you can use tape but then you're having a hard time getting the tape off the mic and have to clean away the adhesive residue. For the working musician, here's a test to determine if you should acquire the clips:1. Do you have extra cables?2. Do you have tools?3. Do you have extra equipment? If you've answered YES to the thee questions above it means you're partially prepared for disaster. Finish your prep and get these extra mic clips.

These clips work as expected and are a good price when you get the three together.

I prefer these to the 'normal' shaped mic holders, because these hold all different shaped mics. Also, you can hang the mic upside down, etc. Much better than the conventional mic holder. Actually, I just pulled one out and compared it to my old one, and there is a bit of a range of motion issue. They are more limited. It is mostly an issue when using a straight mic stand. You can't get the mic to sit horizontal. About 45 degrees from vertical is as much as it moves. But this won't matter if you have a gooseneck on the top of the mic stand. With a boom, you will need to place the mic stand a bit further away from your guitar to mic it. Not much. It's not THAT big of a deal. They open up as wide as my old one (whatever that is?). And so, accept lots of mics. And the build quality is fine. It's always good to have a few extras of these in case you need another mic stand..... and one appears without a top on it.

These clips have a strange design - it's not possible to mount a mic "straight/level" on a straight mic stand. Closest you can get to level is pointing about 45 degrees upward. Probably fine for some applications, but we wanted to mount a couple of shotgun mics on straight stands at back of auditorium, at a height above the heads of the audience, and have the mics pointing either straight ahead or about 20 degrees downward. Can't do that with this clip. You could do it with a "boom" stand, if you position the boom itself at about a 45-degree angle.

Having recently been lucky enough to buy two top notch little pencil mics i realized that standard mic clips wouldn't work. To big or mic is to small.I rolled the dice and bought a box of 3 cheep little clips on Amazon for a fraction of what it would cost to buy the Sennheiser and / or Schoeps clips.Fraction! And they work and fit perfectly!Good job & thanks Amazon !
