This headgear is over looked, due to big name companies. I've been boxing 12 years. Sparring is a key part of training. This head gear give you the protection without Restrict in your view. The big thing I see with face savers. The bar blocks vision or to bulky. Put your money on this one.

This is a very solid headgear. It's real leather, well stitched, and fits very well when adjusted. My hat size is 7 1/4, and the L/XL fits. The chin strap is a plastic buckle, which is convenient. Over the years as a professional martial artist, I've used top of the line gear from Winning and Cleto Reyes, but for the price, this is very hard to beat.The inner lining is textured and prevents sliding around. I have had no problems with visibility- even with kicks, but maybe some will, depending on the anatomy of your face as it relates to the position of the bar. It is not too wide, heavy, or bulky. Given this type of design, many manufacturers drop the ball on bulk. Not here.It is VERY protective. So much so that you will need to be aware of maintaining your defense rather than just eating shots. That being said, like any headgear, you could still be knocked out with it if you catch a shot at the right angle. But as far as cuts, bruises, broken noses, orbital fractures- It should prevent all of that provided you are wearing proper boxing gloves. It will likely work for larger MMA sparring gloves too, but I wouldn't really call this an MMA headgear.If I have to pick a minimal negative, the lacing system makes it time consuming for multiple people to use, as it would really need to be adjusted to each individual for best results. But for a single user, once it's adjusted, the chin clip is really the only adjustment. The comparable facebar headgear by Mytra Fusion here on Amazon is better suited for multiple users due to the velcro back.If you're looking for a solid, safer sparring option that seems very well built, and can take some punishment- you definitely won't do better for the price than this.
