The instructions provided are in gibberish. For example, to clean the litter box manually, the instructions say: “Press [the cleaning button] 1 s, make a “di”, and the cleaning indicator light will light up. Release the cleaning button.” I get pressing the cleaning button for 1 second, but how do I make a di?? Is that the sound the machine is supposed to make ‘cuz it’s not.

I have previously been using the blue crystal tray based auto cleaning litter boxes for the last few years, so naturally I will be comparing that experience with this one. One thing I had liked about using the crystal litter is that it doesn't produce dust, however you don't have to use sand litter with this which is nice, it supports more eco friendly and less dusty litter types. It's easy to fill, just take off the top and pour the litter through the whole. Don't make the same mistake I did by adding too much litter (habit from my other litter box were you just empty the whole bag) because otherwise the barrel won't be able to turn fully and you'll spend a lot of time trying to adjust the amount inside. I had wished the instructions had made mention of its capacity. Cleaning is simple because it all goes into the tray below that you simply line with a bag. It's smart enough to know when the tray is in position (make sure the magnet aligns) in order to prevent cleaning when the tray isn't in place.The unit itself is easy to put together. The only pieces really is the two halves of the housing, the barrel, the feet and the tray.ine did have some damage on the litter tray insert (which is placed already inside), I patched it up with some tape and it seems fine so far. The feet have rubber on the bottom, making it not slip which is nice, if you don't have it placed under anything. In my case it is under a table and this makes pulling it out to refill the litter difficult without adding a few pieces of cardboard under the feet, but if that wasn't the case it would be great otherwise. Technically I could also just refill it from the front.It comes with a mat to catch stray litter which is great. That will slide very easily on tile however, so place something under it to prevent that. The litter doesn't really get everywhere from what I've noticed so far like open litter boxes.The app this links to is nicer than I was expecting. You don't have to create an account in order to use it, which I appreciate, but you can. It lets you change the intensity of the nightlight inside, which is a great touch. It will also tell you how many times your cat has used it and when and for how long. Details of error messages are also displayed within the app.Overall, I'd say this is actually a step up from my other auto cleaner. I have both out as I transition my cat from the other to this one but she had no problem using this at all.
