Due to thermal forces in the vehicle engine, this variable notched belt tightens on the drive as it heats up to prevent slippage, improve belt performance and reduce noise.

These are pretty standard belts. I found the correct size by looking up my vehicle on-line and searching for information on it. I used that info to cross-reference the belt number, just to make sure I had the right ones! No real issues installing them, just a bunch of nut-turning and bolt tightening and loosening.

Perfect belt for my truck

It fit my 1992 Toyota pickup great! This is the alternator belt that just goes from the fan to the alternator, no other pulleys involved. My truck is the base model with no power steering. I just checked a parts store website to make sure I had the right Gates model number and then bought it on Amazon because it was $7 cheaper and had free prime shipping. I just had to loosen the alternator and slide the belt over the fan blades and down to the pulley and hook it on the alternator pulley. Not much to pry on to put the alternator back in place, so I put a piece of 2x4 wood against the alternator and tapped the wood (not too hard) with a hammer to nudge the alternator back into position and get the belt tight. I saw that wood trick on youtube. I never had to do that before, but there just wasn't a good place to pry on to get it back in position! The truck is charging fine, and I didn't have to pay the $70 quoted by the mechanic to do the job. Took about 15 minutes.. would have been quicker if there was a place to pry. :)
