I found the one tiny spot of heat would damage my thin aluminum backpacking cookware in that one inch spot. I put this into my survival bag and bought one that speads the heat out in a 3 inch circle. It's a little bigger but I prefer it. If size is concern, by all means get this. It's worth it. Wish someone would have warned me.

For the price, it’s 5 star, the issue is the small parts on top of the the arms to make the cooking pot stable are not really flat, one of them is way too proud that makes the cooking pot unstable and the arms are on the flimsy side. Portability wise yes it’s really small that you can put in your pocket. But if you want to have safety and stability for your cooking pot, I suggest you look somewhere else.

It seems a bit heavier than it looks but is not too heavy at all. Just feel lighter in case. The zowie button works fine. Maybe rubber gloves or let the kids light it as a reward for something. It is quite small in it's case, but does barely fit in it. The price was a good deal. I almost paid 2x as much. I'd say with confidence, it would have been less pleasing had I paid twice as much. It does need some manipulation of the pot stand to get them into a decent range for use. This will not be the best idea for more than emergency or one or two hikers use. It is small. My picture makes it look much larger that it is. Grab yourself a couple for gifts. It seems pretty sturdy. I bought as backup/emergency use for blackouts. Single with a 16 yo son. We'll have some fun on the porch just to play with it before it disappears in to a drawer.

The size is bigger then my original thought but the ignition is convenient and the main reason I am buying another burner. My first burner does not come with ignition.

Had a similiar burner for years and the arms started to get loose and wouldn't hold a cup very steady so I decided it was time to replace it. Very happy I picked this product this one is built way better then my previous one.. Arms are stron and tight and ignitor works very well love this thing !

Bought 4 of these for our scouting group as the older boys are starting to backpack. A team of 2 boys share a tent, cook kit (including one of these stoves), a trowel and TP, and water purification. These operate on a Iso butane/propane canister available at major outdoor retailers and mass merchandisers. Easily screw on to the canister, slightly open the valve to allow gas in to the stove, and then push the red ignitor button to make a spark. Easy to adjust the size of the flame after that. Was able to boil 1 liter of water in an aluminum pot in about 3 minutes. Turn off just as easily by turning down the gas control to not allow more in to the stove. The device stores nicely in the provided plastic container. Fairly lightweight, and at a good price for the weight. I can support a 7" diameter 2 L pot on this without issue.Recommend to others in the market for a lower cost, dependable backpacker stove.
