Nice looking doorbell button, but I was surprised to see when I unpacked mine that the actual button switch is deeper than the overall housing. You’re expected to drill a large hole behind the switch housing to accommodate (countersink) the actual button switch and the wires connected to it.

It took us a hot minute to figure out how the doorbell went together. Looked on manufacturers website and they have a video for everything but the bell. Write to them to ask for instructions - never heard from them. We finally figured it out after an hour of more of wading through websites and trying to puzzle it together. Looks great and works. It just shouldn’t take that long to replace a doorbell!

This doorbell button is nicely crafted and looks great when installed. The trim plate is a weighty metal casting, and the button trim matches the trim plate. (This model is available in 13 finishes from the manufacturer; the one I purchased is Satin Black.)The kit comes with no instructions (and none available online), but installation is straightforward. A substantial brass bracket attaches to the wall (or door trim, in my case) with two countersunk wood screws (included, along with two wall anchors, which I didn't use).I marked the trim where I wanted the center of the button and then used the bracket as a template to mark the locations of the mounting holes. I drilled pilot holes for the screws and for the center point and then used a five-eighths-inch spade bit to provide enough space for the back of the button and the wires.I fished the wires through the center hole and the bracket and attached the bracket. The button has two small screw terminals, so attaching the wires is simple. I coaxed the wire back into the hole and pressed the trim plate into place over the bracket. Friction holds the trim plate and bracket together, so no screws are visible.The button provides a soft, warm glow. Its color makes me suspect that the bulb is neon. The surface of the button arrived slightly scuffed, but that's visible only if one looks closely and at a particular angle.
