I've purchased several sets of budget utility flies on amazon and these are the best bang for the $ here, if you are needing a set in a pinch for a trip or something or just need some bulk utility flies, this is the one I would get from amazon. Like others, these are too large across the board, but unlike other budget sets, the dries in this set are quite a bit better quality than the others. These are still nowhere near the quality as a good fly shop, but most should be usable, and for less than $1 per fly, they're a good deal. I know it's fun to be throwing size 12's and 14's, but they're just not realistic when you are fishing in mountain streams, they would be better sized down a size on all hooks, same for the wets for anything larger than an 18 for the nymphs, the wooly's and streamer-type flies are fine, same for the stimulators. One other curiosity is the color selection on some of these I've never seen before, will be interesting to use some of those, I do love the mosquitos in this set particularly though. If you're just needing a set for a trip or something, I would say this is missing a few good ones like ant patterns, but otherwise is a very usable selection of utility flies. Also might consider bulking up on drakes and caddis or whatever if you know a hatch is going to be happening.

Well, someone stole my entire fly collection. I've used every brand under the sun, and a few are exceptional. I didn't even think about it, the first brand I looked up was Barnsley. The flies are high quality, good for a few dozen fighting catches, and are stupidly cheap. Best deal in fly fishing.

Great products. They come in small containers about the size of a chewing tobacco container. It is a pain to separate all the dry flys and Nymphs but well worth it. Great variety and perfect for river and stream fishing. I would say the quality are comparable to those fly you would find at a local fly shop but no-ware near the quality of a hand made fly that cost 3 bucks per fly. Great product and will buy again when I run out.

I would give more stars but was missing 2 flies. Flies seem to be well tied with quality material. Will update and add a star once I get out on the water and catch fish on these flies.

Nice flies. All small though. Tough to tell from pics/description, but these are all small, panfish or trout flies, not larger ones like for bass fishing. Flies all seem well made.

Seem like they are quality tied, but I have had several hooks just kind of break off. I would randomly look at the fly, and the hooks are in half and the tip is gone. Just randomly. Not sure if the hooks are low quality or not... Still a good deal I suppose

Ordered a set of these last year before a 9 day backpacking trip up above Edison in California past the graveyard lakes.They arrived exactly like pictured and were extremely good quality. Caught a good quantity of trout and had no issues at all with bad knots or poor quality.Would buy again, and am recommending to friends.

I could not be more pleased with this collection of flies. The quality of the tying seems top notch and the hooks appear to be both strong and sharp. The selection of patterns is very good and will meet the needs of various fishing situations and hatches. I would highly recommend this selection to anyone looking to pick up fly fishing for the first time because it is the most economical way I've found to stock your fly box. You get a great selection of flies for about 1/4-1/3 of what it would cost you at a fly shop without sacrificing quality. I will certainly be a repeat customer.
