I have used to break in multiple gloves with this set. It’s worth it and I have not had any issues.

One of the best tips for parents with a kid learning tee-ball, softball, or baseball, is to BREAK IN THE GLOVE. Don't just buy a brand new glove and give it the kid a day before the first game. They'll be constantly dropping the ball. So discouraging for the little kid! Spend 30 mins while watching some baseball on TV with glove conditioner and this mallet. After a few innings, the glove will be in much better shape that when it was brand new. Now get out there and play.

The only thing missing was some glove oil, other than that this kit is all you need to break in a glove. The strap holds tight and can be adjusted, the mallet is one sturdy piece and wont break even with hard hitting. The wiffle ball was not the best idea for use but if you throw a baseball in it it works great. This kit works well.

This baseball glove break-in kit does the job perfectly! I like the 'single-piece' of wood for the mallet--my favorite part as it means no head to separate. I also like the fact it includes a wiffle ball and glove wrap to keep your glove formed around the wiffle ball. I added a lanyard (shoelace) to my mallet--something I wish the manufacturer included. Otherwise, for the price, a great kit value and so far has broken in 2 gloves.

Surprised how quickly it helps the glove. My son has a new glove and was wanting one of these to break it in. I saw this was a one-piece and thought it was a better option than the two-piece ones that are glued together. This one will never fly apart and he's already been at it on his glove. This is a nice mallet too! Great for using as a non-marring mallet in the shop or even keeping in your car if you need to fend off some angry dogs or whatnot. The mallet feels good in the hand and I like the two grooves at the end of the handle to provide a little extra grip if your hand starts to slip. Other ones I looked at didn't have that.My boy liked the wiffle ball but he didn't use the glove band.Absolutely recommended.

Overall, the initial impression of quality and durability was poor. I would not purchase as a gift again due to the way the product appears.

This mallet is intended for breaking in baseball and softball mitts. I got this mallet for my workshop as a soft-face mallet for chisels and other hand tools. The package includes a plastic whiffle ball and a glove wrap, neither of which I'll ever use.The mallet is made of a single piece of hardwood with a finished surface and no seams. It's a little over 12" long and weighs about 10oz most of which is concentrated in the head. Overall the length provides good striking force and is short enough to maintain good control. The long handle feels good in the hand with a surface that's smooth but not so smooth it slips. There are grooves at the end of the handle (an attempt to compensate for not adding a pommel) and holes for a lanyard should you wish to add one. Adding a lanyard and/or grip tape to this mallet is recommended. My copy has some cosmetic scratches and blemishes that I can feel but don't affect performance, and they certainly won't affect using it as a hammer. It'll do what I want.
