Product Description

Bassdash is proud to offer its finest collection of wet flies, nymphs, and steamers. Curated by Bassdash Pro Staff member, Andrew Mann, these flies have been carefully selected to catch fish across a variety of fishing situations.
Each fly in this collection is meticulously tied at our studio using the finest available materials. Whether you’re looking to swing a fly just under the surface, or probe the depths for hungry trout, this collection has a fly to meet your needs.

Andrew began fishing at the age of six when his father took him to a local trout stream. He fell in love with the solitude of the stream and with the beauty of the small trout he was able to tease out from log jams and undercut banks.
Growing up along the banks of the Maitland River in Huron County, Ontario, Andrew’s passion for fishing continued to grow. He visited the river almost daily, and he learned as much as he could from other anglers.
Andrew has been fishing for more than 40 years, and he has been an avid fly fisherman for more than two decades. He enjoys the solitude the river provides, and he takes every opportunity to get out on the water. Andrew loves to share his passion for fishing with others, and he takes advantage of every opportunity to help young anglers find their own passion for the sport.

A Rough Guide of Flies Patterns in Bassdash Trout Flies Assortment (33pcs barbed and barbless trout flies)
Hare’s Ear Soft Hackle - Barbed #14
This “wet” or “soft” hackle fly is a great choice when fish are taking emergers just below the surface. This fly is fished just below the surface and can also be tied as a dropper from a dry fly. Be ready as the fly swings tight, as this is often the moment that the fly is taken by a hungry trout.
Partridge and Olive - Barbed #14
These “wet” or “soft hackle” flies have their roots in English fly fishing. These flies are fished just under the surface and are particularly successful during caddis hatches and spinner falls. The partridge and olive, can also be fished successfully as a dropper from a dry fly tied eight to ten inches off of the hook bend.
Partridge and Orange - Barbed #14
These “wet” or “soft hackle” flies have their roots in English fly fishing. These flies are fished just under the surface and are particularly successful during caddis hatches and spinner falls. The partridge and orange can also be fished successfully as a dropper from a dry fly tied eight to ten inches off of the hook bend.
Sexy Walt’s Worm - Barbed #14
Originally developed for the European nymphing technique, Walt’s Worm was designed to look “buggy” and get down to the fish quickly. The Sexy Walt’s Worm has an added flash ribbing and coloured “hot spot” to attract a fish’s attention. This is a great fly to use in tandem with another nymph when searching for fish sitting low in the feeding column.
Bead Head Hare’s Ear Nymph - Barbed #12
The Bead Head Hare’s Ear Nymph is a staple in most anglers’ fly box. This pattern just looks buggy, and fish can’t resist it. Because it imitates nothing and everything all at once, this fly is a great searching pattern and will bring many fish to hand.
Caddis Nymph - Barbless #12
Caddis flies are prolific on many streams, and are a favourite food source for trout. This simple yet effective fly imitates a caddis fly that has been swept loose from its rocky home and is tumbling downstream. Use this nymph during a caddis hatch, or when prospecting new water.
Evil Weevil - Barbless #12
Another in a long line of attractor nymphs, the flashy Evil Weevil has the sole purpose of annoying feeding fish and tempting them into striking. Not only does this nymph work well for trout in streams, it can be very effective at eliciting strikes from large steelhead.
Pheasant Tail Nymph - Barbed #14
Originally created by Frank Sawyer in the early 1900s, the Pheasant Tail Nymph has found a home in nearly every anglers’ fly box. This unassuming fly mimics a large variety of aquatic insects upon which trout feed, and therefore is a “go to” nymph for many anglers. If you find yourself wondering what nymph to use, reach for the dependable pheasant tail nymph.
Prince Nymph - Barbed #12
The Prince Nymph has a long history dating back to its origins in California in the 1930s. Since then, the fly has undergone a number of variations that have arguably improved its fish catching ability. Although it is often used to imitate stoneflies, this flashy fly is also a great searching and attractor pattern.
Olive Microbugger - Barbless #12
This fly is simply a scaled down version of its much larger cousin, the woolly bugger. Tied with a tungsten bead, these smaller buggers will penetrate the water column to get down to where the fish are feeding. These flies represent anything from a leech to a baitfish, and their small size is less likely to spook wary trout.
Black Microbugger - Barbless #12
This fly is simply a scaled down version of its much larger cousin, the woolly bugger. Tied with a tungsten bead, these smaller buggers will penetrate the water column to get down to where the fish are feeding. These flies represent anything from a leech to a baitfish, and their small size is less likely to spook wary trout.
