These are extremely squeaky boots. The pleather toung piece rubs causing a terrible squeak squeak with every step. If you plan on being "tactical" probably not the best choice. Lol. Definitely not gonna be sneaking up on anyone.

I ordered the Regular Width in this boots on sale and found them to be WAY TOO NARROW.The boots themselves look great and feel comfortable except for the narrow width.I tired to re-order the X-Wide Size but the price was double what I paid = $71 dollars more ... I couldn't believe it!At $69 these boots are a good value ..... at $140 for the Wide version, not so much.If you have narrow feet the regular version might fit you. For most regular or wide feet you will need to order the Xtra Wide version at a considerably higher price :-(I returned mine and did not re-order due to the Wide Version being more than twice (2X) the price.

For being Bates brand, very disappointed in the quality. I've been in Law Enforcement for 19 years and probably have had every brand of boot you can think of but after a week or so of wearing these the insole already feels like it needs to be replaced. Which is uncalled for only wearing them a short time. Not sure if it's only this model of boots but disappointed in the Brates brand if this is what they have become.

This boot that was purchased from wooki was defective was not WATERPROOF AND SPOTTED UP FROM HOT WATER there customer service does not believe in taking care of the customer

Great boot. Keeps feet dry. Doesn't even feel like you're wearing work boots. I wear these at least 10 hours a day. One thing... Change out the insoles. Take out the abnormally thick insoles included in the boot and pop in some Dr Scholls, and they fit great. Only giving a 3 since I had to spend more money to make the boot work for me.

I was looking for a boot that had these essential features:-- black leather upper, to make care/cleaning easy-- waterproof yet breathable-- Vibram anti-slip sole-- well-built, as indicated by double or triple stitching where appropriate-- comfortable, with an athletic fit for agility-- lightweight preferred, but not at expense of durability or other features aboveThe Bates Maneuver Mid hit all of those marks for me, at a price that was more reasonable than a direct competitor, the 5.11 XPRT 3.0. I tried both side-by-side. They are both good, but the Bates Maneuver Mid was over $50 cheaper and 1" shorter, which I found acceptable without loss of stability. I also preferred the traditional lace system employed by Maneuver Mid with paracord laces provided.It is true that they seem to fit tight/narrow, but this is due to the thick insole. If you are impatient you can change the insole out for something thinner, but if you are patient and break them in, you may find they fit like a glove.If I could change one thing, it would be to offer a lightweight safety toe version of the same model. As it is now, if safety toe is a priority, you have to give up one or more of the above features.Overall very pleased, thank you Bates for making a great boot to replace my Navy boondockers of 26 years.

Not happy with Bates the boot appears to be well built. However the sizing is way off I normally wear a 10 1/2 I could not put the boot on it appeared to be a 9 1/2.

I find these boots to have a low volume toe box and a snug fit very similar to what you'll find in athletic footwear. If you normally wear Nike shoes, then you should be able to wear the same size in this particular Bates model. Whereas in most of my other Bates boots I could possibly size down.I'd wanted this model because it features a true Vibram outsole as I've always had positive experiences with their rubber.Time will tell how durable these boots are. But out of the box, my initial impressions are that this has an athletic fit with solid feeling and quality construction.

My only issues with these boots are long then normal brake in period and crap laces. Other then that really happy with these boots. Awesome winter boot feet are never cold.Also the boots are fine for 8 hours but after that my foot are worn out.

Purchased for my husband. Product looks great. Exactly what he wanted. HOWEVER! We ordered a 9-extra-wide which was indicated as EEE. NOT EVEN CLOSE! Medium at best. Sent back within 10 minutes of receipt. Like the boot, construction, etc. Will give it a second try if Bates can get the size even close.
