Even though this item is designed to use on a bedside commode, it's good for use in the shower too. My slender wife had a problem with her shower stool (that is a combo shower stool/bedside commode). When showering, the water and soap lubricates the seat which makes it hard for her to stay centered on the seat. As this cushion is waterproof, I thought why not try it in the shower. It works! The cushioning on this product and its size makes showering much more comfortable for her. Hopefully this cushion will hold up to the warm water and soap/shampoo.

My elderly mom has a bony butt. Since she’s been using this seat she hasn’t complained once about seat hurting. She had to get adjusted to new seat but after a few days to a week she was more comfortable using it.
