Absolutely love this , works as it is intended, removed starter , installed locking device and my old self removed LS-1 4th gen Fbody balancer bolt with ease , as it is installed @ high foot pounds with GM lock tight , locking flywheel is in my opinion best way to keep rotating assembly unmovable

Fits 2008 GMC Sierra 5.3 Vortec. Minor initial tooth misalignment disappeared when fully tightened with included bolts. Held crankshaft solid for harmonic balancer installation (240 ft-lb torque required).

how else can you do a cam swap on your LS when the crank pulley bolt needs 240 ft/lbs to re install? This tool locks the engine down from the back securely while you apply the obscene torque on the front end

Worked great for holding my gen III 5.3L vortec flywheel in place!! Not quite centered on flywheel, but held it in place torquing it nonetheless!

This tool is essential for torquing the crankshaft balancer bolt on certain GM engines, I used it on a 2006 Corvette to install a new balancer bolt. The torque spec on it is crazy high and you can't achieve it without using this tool to hold the crankshaft. The balancer is not keyed to the crank, and if you don't get this bolt torqued properly, it will break loose and the balancer will spin on the crankshaft causing overheating, loss of battery charging and loss of power steering. This inexpensive tool installs in place of the starter, comes with the necessary bolts.
