The hood latch appears to be solid. But the chrome (clearly not chrome) finish is really a rough texture. Like silver paint over bed liner.

I ordered the chrome finish and what I received is not even close to chrome. Looks more like zink plating. Very disappointed in Bestop.

So one of the other reviewers got the correct chrome ones, as the description states, yet I somehow got the black ones, like the photo shows! They are perfectly functional, and I'll just deal with them being black and maybe paint the others already on the car black also. Just be aware that it seems to be a 50/50 chance whether you get the chrome or black set. 5 stars for functionality, 1 for the description.

Made the mistake of not reading and just purchased off the photo, which shows these as black. Totally see now that it says "Chrome" in the description, I got these because I was looking at the black ones made by other brands and it came up in the compare section. At first I thought maybe I just didn't select black as the color vs chrome but no, they use black to show chrome. I'm sure they're grand but I'm dropping a star for the inaccurate photo. -_-
