1. Remove the standing cover

2. Screw the inner shaft into the mounting hole of the adapter and tighten it to the sunflower

3. Rotate the circular correction rod above the hand variable position, release the knob, movethe sliding bracket and measuring rod so that the top of the measuring rod contacts the top position A of the hand variable, fix the O-ring, and tighten the knob.

4. Rotate the circular correction rod to the other hand position A. If the top of the measuring rod is higher or lower than the hand position A, adjust the hand height until the top of the measuring rod touches the hand position A. The debugging is complete.

Derailleur Hanger Alignment Tool Usage Steps

1. Install the wheels on the frame, ensuring that the wheels are in the center position of the frame

2. Remove the transmission from the tail hook of the transmission hanger.

3. Lock the rotary lever (serial number # 3) onto the transmission mounting hole.

4. Rotate the wheel and adjust the position of the air nozzle on the wheel to point A. Release the knob, move the sliding bracket and measuring rod so that the top of the measuring rod contacts the outer edge of the wheel hub (position A), and tighten the knob.

5. Move the sliding bracket so that the measuring rod just contacts the edge of the wheel hub. Then rotate the tool 180 degrees to position C.

6. Move the sliding bracket and measuring rod to the outer edge of the wheel rim. If the top of the measuring rod is within 4 millimeters of the outer edge of the wheel rim, the suspension bracket should be horizontally aligned. If the top of the measuring rod is 4mm or more away from the wheel rim, or if the measuring rod presses against the wheel rim, the suspension bracket is not aligned. Move the sliding bracket and measuring rod so that they do not touch the wheel rim. Then use a circular correction rod (serial number # 6) as a lever to bend the hanger into horizontal alignment. Repeat the inspection and bending at positions A and C until the gap is less than 4 millimete

7. After achieving correct horizontal alignment of the measuring rod, keep the measuring rod in the same position. If the gap between the outer edge of the wheel rim and the tip of the measuring rod is less than 4 millimeters, rotate the measuring rod to position D. If the gap is greater than 4 millimeters, or if the indicator presses the wheel rim at position B or D, use a circular correction rod as a lever to align with the vertical hanger.

8. If the suspension bracket is aligned correctly, the top of the measuring rod contacts the outer edge of the wheel rim at one position, and the gap at other positions does not exceed 4 millimeters. Check and align all four positions until complete.

Always use a measuring rod to read at the valve hole to ensure that the accuracy of the wheels does not affect the accuracy of the tool. In addition, always measure at the outer edge of the rim to minimize errors that may be caused by the inclination of the rim sidewall.ete.

Too much play between main bar and shaft that it slides onto that screws into derailleur hanger. Depending how you hold it depth to rim can vary 1/2", practically impossible to get reliable, repeatable readings around rim. Unacceptable for precision tool. Ordered Park tool hoping it's much better. Machining matters, you can't cheap out on everything.

Yeah, should have listened. The hanger end is sloppy as hell. It will tighten fine, but the movement at the other end is too large.

Nifty tool. I've used this a surprising amount since buying it. The shifter alignment feature is somewhat questionable because you've got to have the angle of the little metal rod set just right so you get an accurate reading for both left and right brake hoods. Even so, just the derailleur hanger alignment is great to have.

Used this on my SL4 and my S-Works Venge. Great alignment tool for the rear hanger. Takes a some assembly and some time to figure out, but it is very effective. I also like that I was also able to use it to verify other dimensions on the bike. I was wanting to adjust the horns on the handlebars inward so they would be more ergonomic with my hand positioning while riding. I've always had issues making sure both horns were at the same height and distance. Having this alignment tool was a great help. I was able to easily measure one horn, and duplicate the opposite horn to the exact height. The distance was easy to determine using a measuring tape and a wooden dowel marked at the correct distance. Overall, it was far easier than what I had been doing in the past. The rear derailleur works great. Haven't had any issues with it skipping, chattering or grinding. Overall, great tool. Also like the custom cut foam used to store it when not in use. In fact, I just placed it in my tool box for easy storage. Great Alignment Tool!

This Derailleur Hanger Alignment tool is great. If you work on your mtb or road bike at home this can help with a lot of alignment issues. The tool feels very solid and well made in design. I will be saving a trip to the bike shop with this for sure. I tried it out this week after changing out my cables on my Kona mtb and it does help quite a bit to have the alignment adjusted properly. For this price its well worth adding to your garage bike tools.

I've never used a real derailleur alignment tool before. I had made my own out of some angle iron and a bolt, and while it worked it was awkward to use. This is much nicer to use, although it does have one flaw.Overall it's pretty easy to figure out how to use this. One end threads into the hanger and the other end has a sliding bar that you use to compare the distance from the rim top and bottom and side to side. You can slide the gauge up and down the rod to match your rims. Everything works pretty well, but I do find that mine has some play where it screws into the hanger which means you can get a different distance depending on how you push on it. It's still quite usable, but it's something you have to keep in mind.I'm generally happy with the tool and you're much better having one of these than not. A bent derailleur hanger will play havoc with your shifting and one of these is the only way to really fix it.
