I have used several types of these devices for my son when we go biking and hit long hills, but the auto retract of this one is my favorite. You can unhook this without getting off the bike and continue own. It is easy to use and set up and I don't notice it in the way. It is a great help for my young son so we can do longer rides without tiring him out on the hills.

This product is not intended for what I assumed it for. A standard bike tow. Therefore, I can't fault it with a low rating for failing to help me as an ebike tow. I have to stick to my current bungee cord setup to tow my bike uphill. Technically, both are as messy when the retractable function broke. Anyways, it's not worth the risk to try this 220lbs ish rated rope on a 225 lbs rider + 38lbs bike even though its not a dead drag. The nylon rope itself is only 1CM width.
