good quality lock, seems like it will last a while. has a protective silicone type outer layer on the metal that will help prevent the lock from scratching the bike and/or locked item if at all possible. the lock bike attachment piece is kinda flimsy, but seems to work. as long as it is tightened it should hold up for a while as well. would recommend

This lock is to compliment my other two bike locks as this one is smaller but it is mighty. It is comfortable to use with the texture and ability to lock on my bike without fear of scratches or bumps. It is durable and strong. I have been using this lock for just over a month and only had a couple of times where I had to jiggle the key to be able to unlock it but it has never let me down.

Very easy to lock / unlock a bike. Easy to carry on a bike. I use it 2 weeks in the city, bike not stolen yet. The rubber protection keeps the frame safe, that is awesome.

it works, it comes with a lot of things like 3 keys, a wire which i dont use, but the lock is really good. its easy to unlock and its not super heavy, i dont use the tool to hold it on my bike, i just leave it hanging around the frame but yeah its good

I wasn't sure what size to get to make sure it could fit around my Navee scooter frame plus a bike rack but the short one worked out great. I don't bother with the cable because too much risk that it can be cut. The silicone cover is nice to prevent scratching of the frame but it's really grippy so it take some jiggling to get it in the mount. In my case, the mount isn't really made for a scooter because it would put more weight on one side. Instead, I made my own and that's worked out great.

A+++++ Oh my god. I came up to my bike outside of the subway stop in NYC. The back tire was flipped INTO THE AIR so the front tire was on the ground and the whole bike was suspended at an angle. Someone had clearly been trying to get a better angle to pick the lock, because when I put my key into the lock it clicked a little in a way it hadn’t done before. A++!!! It is certainly not an easy to pick lock, because they clearly ran off before they could finish, so it was taking them a minute to pick. This is the lock folks. I only wish I hadn’t lost the rope that came with it so I could secure my tires too!

After spending $235 to purchase and install the Curt 11356 hitch on my Mazda. Then buying for about $160, the Swagman 11356 bike rack from Amazon, for my Mazda 6 Sedan. Well, it hit me that I didn't have a way a protect the bike itself, that I spent $150 to have tuned, plus the new tires and tubes for it (also purchased from Amazon). Whew a lot of money, for a bike that hasn't been ridden in years. So after several reviews I purchased this, Bike U Lock, Heavy Duty Combination Bicycle u Lock Shackle 4ft Length package.Good things:1. Yes, the cable is definitely heavy duty and the lock appears to be very 'solid'.2. The cable length is more than sufficient (I got the longer u-lock version) to encompass my back tire and the down tube. I'm pleased with that.3. The coating on the U lock and the cable is quite sufficient to keep either of them from scuffing your bike, when you are out. What I don't like:1. You need the key to lock and unlock the 'tube lock'. It doesn't just snap back into the locked position, the same way a pad lock will, although it is a similar shape design.2. The U Lock holder will NOT tightly secure itself on the up tube of my back, no matter how hard I tighten it. There is still play after I tighten the holder to the bike frame, which you definitely do not want while you are riding. Another reviewer demonstrates that in his video, even though he is trying to attach it to a scooter.I removed one star only for that reason.Bottom line:If you purchase this U Lock, you will most likely have to carry it around in a back pack (which is not a big deal if you are a casual bike rider). If you a serious (buying all the bicycle gear and outfit type of) rider having to carry the lock on your person, would be a detriment to your 'smooth running.I got a lightweight back pack, so I'm fine with this configuration and will be using it.I like that it is an excellent value, now that you know what to expect from it.

Nice sturdy lock! While I haven’t rode around or used it yet, I got it mounted and it’s exactly what I was looking for, and I especially love the design and silicone exterior material. I was skeptical about the bracket fitting onto somewhere on my bike that wasn’t the seat post, but it worked out fine. The package even included some longer screws that might work if the diameter of your post was a bit larger, but the short screws worked well in my case. My only complaint would be that the lock is a little jiggly once you have it set in the bracket, which I would imagine might wiggle around or make noise when I ride, but that’s no big deal. I’d definitely recommend this lock, especially for the price.

The lock itself is OK but it came with no instructions on how to fix the bracket onto the bike frame. The only way I could do caused the lock to stick out and be in the way when riding the bike. As a result I have to carry the lock in my back pack - not ideal.

The cable that is meant to come with the D lock was not packaged.Only received D lock and bracket. Which is not what I paid for.
