I've bought 2 of these bulbs and neither of them has lasted a year,I get about 6 to 8 months out of them and then they burn out.The original bulb installed by the HVAC contractor lasted about 2 years more.

Not sure if it was a fluke that I got a defective one but when HVAC tech installed and after the breaker was turn on a "Yellow" light came on (not blue) and it started to burn at both ends. Sent back immediately and getting a different brand. Beware

My local HVAC company wanted $110 to replace this bulb for me during a routine check of the system. I declined and subsequently opened the front panel of the air handler myself to find the fixture and bulb completely accessible. I just ordered this bulb as a replacement and installed it for a huge savings. It was easy to remove the old bulb and install the replacement. Just make sure to cut the breaker before doing the work because UV light is bad for your eyes.
