I used these screws along with a #28 drill bit and 8-40 tap to repair a stripped Ruger 10/22 receiver. The repair and screws work fine however, The new screws have a larger head than factory and did not fit into the countersunk holes of my aftermarket picatinny rail. They did fit the factory weaver rail (you have to drill the factory rail with a 11/64 bit for the screws to fit through but the countersunk portion is large enough for the head). If you need these screws you probably are fixing a stripped receiver as well, get an inch pound torque wrench and only tighten the screws to 15 inch pounds along with blue loctite.

These Torx head screws are perfect for my specific needs. I needed replacement screws for my Picatinny Rail Mount. I wanted Torx heads to make firm torque without the problems of flat drive heads. I used Loctite Blue to be doubly sure the screws would not loosen.

These were true #8-40 screws, however, they were Not 1/4" as described. I should have ordered them 3/8" and cut to size. So buyers, ask questions before purchasing.
