Air flow is horrible. You don't cool down unless you are right next to it. Not worth the money. Save your money and buy one that will cool down a room.

The device DOES have a physical capacitive touch button in the LED display (it's not the kind of button you push down; I dislike these kinds of buttons, but they've become popular among manufacturers lately). You are not required to use the remote. If you press the button once while the device is on, it'll cycle the air movement speed up by one. If the device is off, tap the button to turn it on. Once on, hold down for a few seconds to power off the device. I haven't quite figured this one out, but I think swiping from left to right seems to start oscillation, and going from right to left turns it off? I haven't been able to get that to work consistently and have a habit of accidentally turning on the oscillation. On Low (6W power draw, noise below ambient [though wind was audible to my ears]), there is a very mild breeze. On High (16W power draw, 65-70dBc), it's a surprisingly large volume of air being pushed through. on the middle setting of 5 (12W power draw, 55-60dBc), there is plenty of air to kick off evaporative cooling on you. It operates like a blower, with intake at the bottom of the device. and outflow through vents around the arch/loop. The air intake is all around the bottom, so it's not particularly well-suited to, for example, blow cool air in from outside overnight. The device is made to resemble the old ionic air purifiers with the big metal sheets in the center to capture air impurities as they slowly pass by. The manual claims there is an ionic air purifier in this device, but this seems unlikely to me (else it's very low-power), as I recall the distinct smell of ozone produced from ionic air purifiers as well as a need to frequently wipe the metal sheets down to collect the debris. If this fan here is claiming to purify the air, where do the impurities go? Suspicions aside, I wasn't looking for an ionic air purifier and am pleased this doesn't appear to be one, as ozone isn't something you generally want to be inhaling. The remote has convenient "High" and "Low" hotkeys (it's a 10-speed fan, L-1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-H; L corresponds to "0", H to 9; I assume they did this because the LED screen only displays one character, so couldn't write "10" and thought "0" would be misinterpreted).Overall, I have to say it seems rather pricey for what it is, but it does offer pretty decent airflow (especially considering it's less than two feet tall and the loop's probably just about a foot tall), low power consumption, and some nice convenience features.

Works well over a smaller area. The bladeless design doesn't put out as high powered air delivery as a fan with blades does. But this is very good for using on a desktop or floor use when kept in closer proximity to the user. It is nice quality and attractive and the remote is nice for easier control of various functions. It is rather pricy and I've found similar fans of equal size and power for much less money, so one star removed

Love this fan! You get the benefits of a Dyson style fan but with a fraction of the cost. Love that it has a remote as well. Great buy!

Reading through all of the reviews makes me wonder if I got a defective product. It doesn't act defective, but it isn't as great as everyone keeps claiming it is.Wind: Pretty weak. I know it's a small unit, but at max speed you might feel it just barely in a narrow section 10 feet away.Noise: To achieve this 10 feet, it has to be max speed, which is pretty loud for a bladeless fan. It is certainly not quiet.Build: Light and plasticy. It doesn't feel super high quality. When you pick it up the plastic flexes and makes that sound that cheap plastic mould makes.
