Nothing, don’t be scared, I took out the racks, unscrewed the screws and lifted up and forced it loose. The plug wouldn’t fit but I took a pair of scissors and cut a little off the freezer’s plug guard, like an 8th inch and it plugged in well.. put it back together and it works perfectly! $157 to have the guy come out..if it seems to be freezing then melting, this is worth the $$ ! My freezer works again

In a 25 year old refrigerator, the defrost thermostat is likely to fail for the second time. With so much frost buildup and then after a manual defrost it worked fine for a few weeks, it was easy to assume the thermostat likely failed. This was confirmed by pulling the old thermostat, getting it cold and testing with an ohm meter to confirm it was open. This replacement was easy to install and works great.

My freezer would not defrost and ice kept blocking air circulation to the fridge. Replacing the thermostat fixed the problem completely. The process was simple and fast even though I did splice one wire that had a different fitting.

This little item put my dead freezer back into action. I don't recall the exact price I paid but as I recall it was a little under $10.00. It took less than 30 minutes to install and I had never installed one prior to this one. If I had called a repair service the service call would have been a minimum of $85.00 then I would have had to pay labor and probably in excess of $50.00 for the part. I am pretty confident that I saved in excess of $200.00 by purchasing this device and installing it myself. And just to add a little emphasis to this review, I am also 83 years old, so it can be done without being an appliance repair expert.
